nice for a first
you did a very good job and it's your first flash. plus the story lin isn't bad. theres 3 things wrong though. first sonic + amy = statutory rape, amy is too young to go out with sonic. secound shadow doesn't work for eggman at all except for that one time in S.A.2 or S.A.2 battle. last some of the word were missed spelled. other than that great.

A good start for a beginner, good luck with your series. Now then, let's talk about the pro's and con's:

-sound didn't sound choppy
-story was alright, now too bad.

-could use SFX for more effect
-some text boxes took too long
Overall a 3/5.
As for frame rate, I personally recommend 18 FPS. It's not very fast, nor very slow, and a good speed for novices. Anyway, good luck
pretty good, but a major suggestion:
I love the setup. great intro episode for a prolonged campaign-series. Use of sprites was great. Story looks like it's gonna be good.
Could have integrated text into 8-bit style
reentry sequence was a great idea for the opening credits, but was so aquard!
you had him falling from the stratosphere with nothing but a surfboard and when he hits the water... nothing! just glides in! WTF?! what happened to all that energy?! What I would have liked to see would be sonic playing off the re-entry flames like a downturn on a wave to slow his decent. Then he would do the same with the clouds, bud at a greater velocity. The final 20,000 feet should have him using his superior speed to spin, creating a whirlpool that he could slow down his drop along the sides. When he finally escapes, THEN he glides @ 10mph to shore. Do that right and you'll be on the front page!

Good for your first flash
But it was incredibly boring and way too long, next time make it shorter.
My frame rate is usually 30, some people use 20. 60 is way too high and 12 is too low.
