Reviews for "David Bowie Tribute Portrait - Farewell Ziggy Stardust"

i have to repeat what everyone is saying, but you drew an INCREDIBLE-drawing of david bowie, and the details are so amazing, that it just looks like a real-life photo of him!
its almost scary to look at this drawing for too long, thats how realistic it is!
it looks like a photo.

first of all, you've drawn his eyes PERFECTLY.
the eyes are very nicely drawn, they are accurate, the shining of the eyes, the ''teary, liquid-state of the eyes'', is drawn in a realistic way, the way his eyes look towards the viewer, and the pupils/irises in his eyes are truly drawn accurately, and in great detail, making this drawing a very realistic, almost-haunting artwork. (yes...).

other than that, you did a GREAT job in the shading/lighting effects on his face, the way you drew his eyebrows, his nose, his mouth, his hair, and his skin is truly incredible and very, VERY realistic.
i mean, his skin looks like real skin, and i can even see the pores/the stubble on his skin.
its impressive.

other than that, this drawing is a nice, peaceful and emotional tribute to the great person and artist, david bowie, and i wish for him to rest in peace, he left earth too soon.
(and thats a sad thing, for every person that leaves this planet too soon)

you did a great drawing, and you are a good artist.
keep creating epic art.

U left me speechless man, this is the best comment i got on any drawing i did so far :)
thank you very so much for your kind words. I honestly didnt know what i was drawing till it was done. Cause i painted this an hour or two after i heard the news. I put his records in a list, put my earphones on and just went for it. At some points i was welling up specially when space oddity started, but i soldiered on.

I think this was the least technical painting i ever did. It was completely emotional. My way of saying goodbye to a part of my childhood. Bowie and Michael Jackson define my childhood and now i lost both. It kinda sucks big time. I still cant paint Michael yet, probably didnt wana let go coz it was REALLY too soon.

Thank you so much for ur word u honestly cheered me up today. I totally appreciate it and im glad u liked it. :)

Great details

Thank you :)

Beautiful attention to detail. You even did his eyes perfectly.

Ground control to major Tom.
Commencing countdown engines on.
Check ignition, and may god's love be with you.

rainwalker007 responds:

ugh everytime i here that part of space oddity .. i feel a lump in my throat.. Damn his passing was out of the blue wasnt it ?...

Beautiful piece, could easily pass for a photograph. Great work.

Thank you so much.. im glad u liked it :)

This is a great digital painting. Nice show of detail and softness. Great values. Although the cropping is too tight in with it so close to his lips.
What was the photo you painted this from? It's odd that you'd claim copyright on the painting, but not credit the photo it was painted from.

rainwalker007 responds:

The original photo was cropped.. I didnt mean it to be like a final painting im gona sell or anything i was just mourning his passing in my own way while listening to his music. I found it on pinterest. and you know how it is there. I kept following the original source and it went from one pin to another to finally a website for celebrity photos. And even that website wasnt the owner of the photo.

So i googled it and i found no trace of the original owner of the photo. Thats always the case of celebrity photos you cant tell the source anymore. It might be from a photo shoot or an interview i honestly tried to find it and i couldnt. But if you can find the source or know who it is i will gladly add it to the description as i usually do on facebook or DA. Specially when i use a photo from a known photographer.

In case of oil paintings i uploaded i contacted the photographers for their written permission to paint their photos. So there wont be any copyright issues.

Hope that explained why :)
