Reviews for "Khuskan:Le Portique de Musique"

nice LOL

this song was supposed to be funny or sumthin right? could u copy+paste the lyrics again?
the piano sounded wierd... :(
nice glockenspiel
strings were cool
good job
trumpets need more articulation in the last marcato part in the end

WinterWind

Khuskan responds:

yeah, I noticed the piano. I had velocity all the way up... forgot to fix it.

I cant paste in the lyrics because nobody actually recorded them, and I couldnt find my show time chior when I needed it :\

Liked it

The piano was a little loud but I'll get over it.I liked the sound of the trumpets and just all the instruments in general.

Hope you don't take offence to this but at some parts the cello(or whatever it's called) kind of reminded me of the theme for the show Pinky and the Brain.

Overall I like it a lot the more I listen.

Khuskan responds:

I understand why you recognise it. Many, many songs with influences from western classical and orchesteral music use a similar, if not the same bassline. I assume you're talking about the part where it quiets up.

I'm thinking of cleaning this up and doing a re-release, but i'll leave it for a few weeks first.

hmm...

Aren't symphonies generally supposed to have 4 movements? Or at least 3? At any rate, I wouldn't call this piece such a thing. What I WOULD call it is good music, though. All-around, well-crafted, aesthetically-designed, pleasing-to-the-senses, good music.

Khuskan responds:

Hmm, maybe I should redefine.

*franticaly looks up*

Ok, you're right. Well I guess it sort of has 3 movements.. if you imagine them.

Wow

awsome job. I do not come to audio portal that often anymore and whenever I do it is glad to see some real good music such as this.

Keep it up

Khuskan responds:

Taa mr pie :D

Very impressed!

ah classical stuff!!! This is WHERE I SHINE BABY!

Okay the xylaphone or bells you used in the back should resonate more in my opinion, they just plink, they should twinkle!!! Otherwise it sounds a bit out of place. Maybe replace that sound completely with a piano.

The strings were well utilized, I lovedored them, like my own children I will adopt one day.

The ending was a bit confusing. Too much going on too randomly.

I think a good solid brass going on the background would elevate the mood. Like have french horns, or the trombones playing long stretched notes in the background.

The strings going on with the flute (I think its the flute) worked very well in my opinion.

The swapping of instruments back and forth was also a good idea, it flows well.

Have you considered Orchestral hits in this piece? I can think of a few places that it would just ROCK to have.

Over zorgasmic stuff.

you've easily bypassed my expectations once again, *5'age from me*

Khuskan responds:

The ending. Yup. The ending. I cry when I think of it. That was an automation and quantisational DISASTER. About half the notes are completely out of time, and the only reason it sounds almost slightly right is because of the overpowering brass I added to drown it out.

Yup, I'm critising myself...

Orch hits eh? I'll have to build a combinator for that, I've never tried to make one before but yes, that would work pretty well.
