Reviews for "§Zeth§ Forest Theme"

Yery cool tune

I know it's a forest theme, but it sounds like a pirate theme. The cymbals sort of resembles waves or cannon fire. Or is that just me? I've never heard this song before, but it's extremely catchy. I checked out some your stuff, and it's very good. I'll listen to some more later. This was great! Keep 'em coming!

XGM-Zeth responds:

Well; It's a forest theme from Super Mario RPG; therefore the name.
But your illustration also show the fact that it could be used in other things; as a sea-battle thingy or anything with sea.

Anyways; norsk for the win!

good a bit repetitive coulb be more creative

a good piece of music, you could be more creative and add more depth, a nice piece of music, i liked it. you had some pretty repetative sequences but overall it was well made.

XGM-Zeth responds:

I tried to be really; freaking; depthful. Guess I failed at that; but anyways.

I'll try to improve on these factors.
Thanks for reviewing!

Yay!

I havnt heard this one remixed properly yet, and this was a pleasent suprise. It wasnt too bouncy, like many other covers of it are, or too staccato and it had a great feeling to it.

One thing I noticed, was the alto strings on the first part missed a note out of there at the end.

Yours went C# B Bb B Bb B G F# and missed the Ab on the first time round, but not the second, sounded a bit odd considering it was carried with the Ab the rest of the way through.

The other instruements sound great, and are introduced excelently. One problem I did have was either the tuba, or the trobones seemed to sound very parpy after the xylophone. It sounds like it should be taken up an octave to me. Also, turn the volume on that xylophone up. At that point in the song, it holds the melody, but it was being drowned out by the other instruments.

Excelent orchestration though, well done.

XGM-Zeth responds:

Thanks; Constructive Critism is great to have laying around.
As for the string thing; I know.
My brother commented that as well.
And as for the tuba; I turned the velocity a bit too high at the end; making it too dominant; and it should have been up in a higher octave.

the xylophone isnt that dominant at the real thing either; I checked.
But it could have given a touch to the song if i did turn up the volume.

=DD

Hey dude! I don't know if you remember or not, but you reviewed one of my songs a while back. I finally decided to check some of your stuff out. =)

This song is so good! I used to play Mario RPG all the time, and sometimes I'd just goto the forest level to listen to the music. You are amazing for making this!! =D

XGM-Zeth responds:

I didnt remember it until I heard the song; Hows it going btw ? Any new songs?

Well; Thank you for the review and votes (if you voted), I've been wanting to remix for a while; and with this and the castlevania song I actually begun.

Gotten FL yet btw?

Excellent!

Nice work!

I very much enjoyed this song, seeing as it is very different from the rest of your library, but still related to most of them.

You lose a few points because the premise was of course taken from the Super Mario RPG, but thats nothing to fret about.

I like the variation in the tune; going from a soft pitter patter that puts you in mind of the outskirts of a forest, followed by a full blown orchestra as you enter the forest. And the deeper you get the deeper the tune goes. Simply put, fantastic!

All in all a very good job!I look forward to seeing more of your work, as always!

Mad Major

XGM-Zeth responds:

Thanks MadMajor;
I really do not know how to properly respond to your review; but I'll try.

I was trying to take one of my favorite tunes from video-games; and simply make alot more epic and big.
I am pleased with the way the orchestra did though; so I'm overall happy with the song.

Thanks for reviewing; I'm always happy when I get them :D
