I enjoyed it
It's good when a battle has more humor than blood and dismemberment. Running jokes are always fun, but I think the sidekick's problems should either be changed to different, increasingly unlikely accidents, or call him "the sidekick with the bad back" or some such.
Oh, and thank you for making Dan's ape-powers disadvantage a weakness for bananas. I can think of a few who would've made it flinging rotten fruit and own poo at enemies.
