Reviews for "Disco Balls"

good very good

good job only controlling your marble is a little difficult.

I've lost my marbles

Most of the other reviews mention difficulty controlling the marble, but I would argue that's what makes the game challenging. Well done.

jackcole responds:

Thanks for the comments, BetweenDogandWolf (and everyone.) The control seems to be a love/hate thing on this game. I've had several people tell me both ways. Maybe I just need to add an alternate control option on a future version.

game over on failure?

Why not a loss of life, or simple "try again"? There's no "high scores" or anything. This is pure challenge by challenge, so why game over? Kills the game, really...

jackcole responds:

Thanks for the feedback, szym. Getting the gameplay and flow down on Disco Balls was a challenge. I think the "try again" approach you suggested may be perfect for this game. I'm going to look into adding it in the next couple weeks in an updated version or something similar.

Loved it!

Loved this game, very addictive. And I can't get the tune out of my head!

Only suggestions I can think of other than ones I can see have been said is maybe an online mode would be fun?
You know like playing against other people :P

Good Job!

jackcole responds:

:) Online multiplayer is something I've been looking into for future versions and/or future games.

Spinning into Place

I see alot of comments about the controls. Now it might just be the live-fast-and-leave-a-beautiful-crate r in me, but I love games where you're fighting against becoming a victim of your own momentum. That's life, eh?

Now, I blew through the levels with the Agility character (I was a bit disappointed when the game ended after completing only nine challenges) and enjoyed every moment. The four characters are sufficient, without overpopulating the roster with minor variations on the existing archetypes. There was enough variation in the maps to require a quick rethink at the start of each new challenge. I'm hoping there will be an eventual sequel/expansion, as the game is already solid, and merely lacking content.

jackcole responds:

Based on most the comments, at a minimum there will be an expanded version as soon as I have the time to get to it. It's built to make it pretty easy to add new levels. I'll try to get around 20-25 in a future version.

Thanks
