Reviews for "2008 Candidate Quiz"

nice

that really had a deep ploitical value to it. it really helps give u a sence at which side u stand. it would be nice if u simplified the scoring system tho, mabye just have democratic and republican instead of all the presidential candidates.

yeah, im with Mr.WootWoot, republicans are fuckin facists. but then again without them we would have never conquered north mexico, built the panama canal, or taken Hawaii.

top 5

5-Tancred
4-Edward
3-Clinton
2-Obama
1-Kucinich

------------Hey, i learned something!-------------

so who's your candidate?

I Really like this game but it needs work!

I am a registered voter in the USA. According to this I should vote for Romney! that is absurd, but according to your game he got the most points, 14! I got 13 from Hillary, whom i will never vote for due to her personality, Lewinsky, and fascist policies towards video games.

I got 9 points from Obama, whom I have my doubts about, but I have felt like I like him. I think this quiz needs more questions; an introduction such as party affiliation, etc. Also pick 3-5 of the most important issues and weigh them accordingly; give candidates with the same views as me on the most important issues bonus points.

Also I did not see Ron Paul, GOP Libertarian Candidate, in the results! If you research his positions, and include him in the quiz; many people who take this will see that he is a great candidate!

I like the idea of ending up at the results page..

but I'm not sure these questions are the best way to get there, nor does it seem to be working entirely.

My girlfriend and I have similar politics (though I had 14 for Ron Paul and Clinton and 13 for Biden, for example... while she had 13 for the first two and 12 for Biden, and some of the scores of the other candidates varied as well), but... both of us got a "4" for Thompson.

Since Thompson isn't an actual candidate, are the full answers of his policy stances on all 25 issues just not available or something? Is that really more of a 4 out of 10 than a 4 out of 25? Just wondering.

Good idea, though. Great choice to release it on the same night as the YouTube/CNN democratic candidates debate.

tpm responds:

Thompson missed out on a few points because of unknown positions, probably because of his "not officially running yet" stance. I used data from 2decide, a website I found on Digg a few days ago. I will keep it updated as views are known. Its impossible for anyone to score a 25, because I think they all have at least 1 view that's unknown or flip-flop-ish. I'm pretty sure my code is accurate, but I'm going to keep optimizing it anyway, and consider other point schemes, like if you assign a higher weight to an issue, matching candidates get a bonus point. Right now, I'd say anyone in the top 3-5 could be your view, because the "weight" wasn't factored in.
