Reviews for "Carol of the Bells X-mas"

Hmmm...

I never realized that What Child is This is just a poem over the top of Greensleeves. Hm. Anyhow, this reminds me of a slightly harder Trans Siberian Orchestra... which is to say it rocks. At first I was dead set against liking this, but I just couldn't. It's pretty farkin' Epic.

Glad you enjoyed the tune. :-)

another great piece

the only thing and its probably just my preference but the electric guitar its well in my opinion kind of a dominant instrument i would have liked to her the guitar having a bit more aggressive dynamics. it just kinda sounds muted like its just harmony if that's what you were going for then that's fine i'm just giving my opinion also just out of curiosity i am a music creator and i've been looking for a different program something that uses more realistic music the music that ill be putting on here soon is more of a techno type of thing but i would like to make some more orchestral music id like it if you could comment or pm me about your current program please and thank you

Gravey responds:

The guitar's intent was to primarily be a base for the rest of the ensemble to stand upon. It is not intended to be the main focus of the piece in any way. The idea was for it to create a sort of driving pulse for the rest of the ensemble to build upon.

As for what I use, I primarily use EastWest products for all my needs.

Thanks for the review.

missing something

don't get me wrong, it's still a good piece and a decent one indeed but there's still something to make it..you know, perfect. maybe perfection was not what you were after but anyway, great work you did there and hope you could make more amazing masterpieces

Gravey responds:

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the tune.

Could Have Been Better

Not bad, but some parts bothered me a bit, for instance at 1:10, the main part is to soft, I can barely hear it. Secondly, 2:30 - 3:18 seems incredibly forced, it just builds from nothing, and is far different from the rest of the song, it also lacks the sort of "Climatic" feel to it, and appears to kind of drag on, even with the increased tempo, it just does not add anything new. This is just my personal opinion, I am no music expert, but this is what I feel needs improvement. Best of luck in your next songs. 7/10 3/5

Gravey responds:

Although I do appreciate the feedback, I would disagree completely that there are sections that are too soft. In all actuality the volume levels are fairly steady. So maybe you should look into getting better speakers or headphones. Because there are no volume level issues with this.

Thanks for the review.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMAZING! What program do you use for percussion? Or for any of this really? I must know. I've been doing classical covers of things lately and I even posted a cover of Carol of the Bells here on newgrounds and I thought mine was good until I hear this now I listen to mine and I'm like "What a fucking pile of garbage" why did I even waste my life making that. Also I tried your link because I was going to add you on facebook but it didn't work for me.

Gravey responds:

I use a lot of sample libraries for my percussion. Most of my audio is produced using EastWest products though. So I recommend checking out their website if you are interested in good sample libraries.

Glad you enjoyed the tune.
