Schade, ab einen Moment konnte ich nichts mehr abschießen. Spielefehler wohl... dabei war ich gerade so schön in fahrt.

VERY ADDICTIVE!

when i first saw querty warriors on the list of most popular games, my first thought was: "oh boy, a game that tries to teach typing to kids using fighting." i decided that i would take it for a spin, hoping to tackle a spot on the leaderboard. but upon entering, i found that there was more depth to the game than i thought.

for one thing, this idea isn't rare, you find all over the network many different typing games, and qwerty warriors was no exception. the concept is simple, type in letters to shoot and defeat an onslaught of enemies, with the occasional bonus powerup. but for some reason, this game seemed much beyond that.

for one, i liked the sense that the difficulty started out very slow and easy, with 3 letter wods like put, and tin, and such, but later rose to more complicated words. the interesting part was that how many letters were in a word made a difference in the appearance of an enemy. for example, a simple 3 letter word would represent a foot soldier, while as the letters rose, the enemies appeared as tanks, and helicopters, fighter jets and such.

i also enjoyed that there were mul, tiple difficulties. the one thing i didn't like about that was that the only difference between difficulty leves was that the enemies sped up more, no others.

the powerups also gave a variety to the game, but overall after playing for a half hour or so it gets somewhat boring. the enemies are tedious, and eventually you see the same words you saw 5 minutes ago. i also noticed that to play this game you will require much patience, for at some times it does appear rather boring.

but that's not to say it isn't bad! this game would probably be one of those games that a young boy would wake up in the morning and be excited to play, and the concept of gaming is somewhat overwhelming, so they will not realizing that there typing skills are gradually getting better and better. even i learned from this game, as now i can type much faster than i could before it. and even now you may be thinking, "dang, this review is long!" well, that would probably be because of my sudden stamina for typing that i have gained.

speaking of stanima, the only issue of the game physically, is that your hands do eventually tire dearly of typing randomn words over and over, and the repetetiveness doesn't really help much, either. i played for 15 minutes with no problems at all, but then i began to feel slight fatigue, and soon, by 30 minutes it was beginning to get heavier. trust me, once you reach 100,000 points, you'll be begging yourself to stop typing immediately, but the problem is, your hands simply wont stop typing! you just HAVE to gain that spot on the leaderboard, because you WANT to be recognized.

speaking of the leaderboard, anyways. (dang, this review is getting long!) it is filled with some rankings that will take 2 or 3 hours to achieve, but for most, it will be quite easy, because the game in itself isn't very difficult, (in fact, it is actually quite easy upon itself, i played in very hard mode when i achieved my score of 150,000, on the spot of number 12 for the daily leaderboard,) but it will be very tedious, so once again i bring into command that announcement. also once again i shall mention the fatigue that it causes your hands. but at the same time i would recomend it for the little kiddos who need a little bit of help typing, because it WILL help.

now to talk about the different aspects of the reviewing sheet, and for me to give reasons as to why i chose them.

i gave the graphics a 10, mainly because for the type of game that it is, you would expect some less-than average graphics, but suprisingly, some of the animations are pretty good, and the landscape will catch your eye for a bit. i also like the enemy drawings. style is a 10, mainly because you can learn whilst having fun. sound is a 5, it isn't terrible but it's not too good.
violence, no comment. interactivity is a 10 because it is a fully playbable game. no humor here. overall, i give this game a 9, out of 10.

Awesome

One of the few (actually the ONLY one) typing games ot get me hooked. I am now typing this message in rapid time :D
With a few optimizations, your game could be fit for teaching typing in school! I played to 100,000 points, them my arms got tired (it's kinda late at night right now).

The animations weren't boring (true, I was looking at the keyboard about half the time, heh), and the sound was interesting enough that it wasn't annoying. The way that robot can kill in rampage mode, just wow. He owns majorly ^.^

Keep up the good work, and you might just break out of Flash into commercial design if you aren't already. Looking forward to QWERTY Warriors 3!
