Reviews for "Tomb Chess"

Ok...

I agree , though you may have used a form of chess, you probably shouldn't have called the game a chess game, knowing that people woul associate it with the most common form.

This was a decent game, although if you had a queen, a pawn, and half a brain, you couldn't be beaten. So other than the fact that it's extremely easy and dull in spaces, it was pretty good. Decent job. Something with a little more flare would be good next time... this was good for one play through... but that's about it.

I can't believe it's not chess!

Don't get me wrong the game is strategic and has a unique idea. You however push the game as chess... This is not chess. The only relation is the names of the pieces and the name of the game. In chess the pawn can kill any piece on the field. However the pawn can only kill the king? That doesn't even end the game. Every piece has the same movement scheme. Oh I realize the pieces in the game are equaling the amount used in chess. And? Change the name or something. This is not a variation of chess. That is calling Go Fish a variation of Texas Holdum. Now if you want to change this, either change the name or adjust the pieces to act like chess. If you choose the latter then I suggest building a board that is bigger with scattered graves. If you wish to adjust the game to be more like the ancient game of chess, then you must make the game have the main rule. Chess has one objective: KILL THE KING! One more thing, the idea would be cool if every kill was different such as a different death scene to the piece depending on the piece killing it. EX: Queen kills Rook by crushing with tail, but kills Pawn by biting in half. Oh and zombie/living dead means violence. So add more of it please?

how can I put this - there are more forms of chess than just the western style of chess you know and love. This chess game is based on one type of Chinese Chess. Yes it is chess - just not the type you know.

wow, simply wow

Great idea, horrible execution. The simple fact that each grave has a 50/50 chance to be yours or your enemies is simply ridiculous. In my experience playing this game, it is closer to a 90/10, in favor of the computer. Another monstrous (no pun intended) flaw is the movement. If it was more like traditional chess the games enjoyability would increase tenfold. All in all, iy has the potential to be great, but just dosen't put out.

I see you have vast experience. The odds are 50-50 but sometimes you just get unlucky.

Excellant, but major problem

It was a great game, though it would've been cool to have chess like qualities like each thing has a different area of movement.. But there was a major problem that continued to annoy me, even when there was a very good chance I could win the game it defaulted to stale-mate.. if you could make it so that when the computer senses a stalemate it gives the player an option to declare stalemate or continue playing, but the comptuer won too many times just because of some wierd stalemate thingy...
Anyways, the graphics were cool, but not spectacular or anything, just decent. The quality that you'd expect in a good flash game.
The style was very original, I've enver heard of a game like this (I'm sure its been made plenty of times or something but I've never seen it so I'm saying its original)
Speakers are acting up today, sorry, didn't hear anything...
The attacks were awsome except for the kings attack, it just like glowed and then suddenly the piece died and you like wtf... maybe have it shoot like red glowing physic blade thingies all over the enemy and, that'd be interesting..
Very easy to use interface, simple, effective, anybody can figure it out 0.o
I didn't see anything htat was all that funny..
Overall, an awsome game but has a few bugs that should really be worked out, that stalemate thing is really bugging me..

very nice!

excellent game, and to the guy before me, he said it wasnt like chess
