Fun, but needs a tad bit more work in areas
Now, I’ve given this game a 9 because it was so very addicting. I played and played, then finally got fed up with 50k+ health on the flyers while only getting a measly 12 gold for each kill on level 86. There are a few things that need addressing in this game.
#1 The anti-aircraft batteries state that they do splash damage, and they have nice land obscuring explosions, however I have not noticed any explosion damage splashing over to other air units. I don’t know if it does splash on anything other than expert mode, but I want splash damage if it says it has splash damage.
#2 The split-offs should provide some gold. It is very disheartening to hack away at a group for 8 waves, only to have the ones about to die give you nothing but more enemies with extreme amounts of health.
#3 If you have a load of levels, then you need to at least add one more upgrade. Maybe the last level of upgrade only gets unlocked when a certain level is reached. It is much more fun to kill things than to bounce one wave back and forth through a field of fully upped sonic turrets for 20 waves before they start dieing. Not that things need to be easy to kill, just possible without spending 20 game minutes on them (I say game minutes because my computer got down to 8 real seconds per every game second. I know this can’t be fixed in the traditional manner, but less enemies would do it (namely if the player can kill them)).
#4 What is up with level 50 still generating monsters when an unexpected air wave comes through. Normally those green globs go through and tie up everything that isn’t an anti-aircraft battery. (just an oddity, possibly a timing error. Maybe a bit more time should be added between waves on 50).
Other than some inconsistencies (like blobs bursting through walls or no splash damage when there should be) this is defiantly a tactical game.
Oh, one more discrepancy. When the little thing says,” sell this turret for 3 gold,” Shouldn’t it give you three gold? It always took a little bit more off the top, like the defense industry was corrupted. Just please make sure when you sell something it actually gives you the full amount agreed upon.
Otherwise I think it was a very fun game of the mind. The few errors still makes it a good game, just try to deliver what is shown on the screen.
