Relatively solid
This is pretty good stuff for a beta. The game is fun as hell, and with the exception of the final stage it's pretty solid. As for the final stage, I do think that it might be impossible. I just got done making it to level 72, but I still enjoy playing it. All the past complaints are legit, but only applicable on the final level. I'll outline those problems:
- Goo mobs that split tend to split through the maze (I don't mind the multiple splits, if you have your shit down you can handle it)
- Also with the goo mobs, they don't give gold when you kill their multiples. Even if that was your intent, the multiples really should give some amount of gold. They take up your time, and can really bog you down
- The wave time limit gets really hectic late in the game. I had three waves on at one point. the timer isn't too bad of an idea (to keep the player from building everything before the next wave), but perhaps the timer shouldn't send the next wave at you until you're done with what you're on.
- BIG air mobs have weird hit point anomalies (what's with that decimal thing?) and are pretty close to impossible to kill. As much as I hate to say, these should be toned down moderately.
- The sounds get kind of overbearing, and really dig into the game speed
- The prices need to be a bit reworked. A couple of the upgrades are great, but not worth the exorbitant amount of money (air turret max upgrade).
- The last two stages, given the open area, tend to show that the stage isn't a perfect square with matching size openings in all four walls. It becomes obvious when you try to build a maze and you have weird lumps you have to accomodate.
In general, please don't tone down the final stage too terribly much. I think only a little reworking of enemy HP and slightly more gold would make things great. I want to see a final version soon!
