Reviews for "Solid RPG"

it was alright

it was alright i liked the gameplay but the graphics sucked u could re do this game make the graphics a lot better and it would definatly get a 5

nice

what can i say, i loved the chrono trigger soundtrack and the buster sword, i understand this was made quite sometime ago as i have tried it on another site but never got around to it, it dissapoints me to see you wont be making anymore of these, a good remake of this game and id say it could be one of teh best rpgs on newgrounds, the only coule of problems so far(im still playing i have 2 heroes metals) would be the walking speed and the way you cannot change equipment between characters, overall i liek this game and i would recommend anyone to play a good bit onto it before voting or reviewing

Thank you for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed it! The "quick go" was put in the game to kind of counter the bad walking speed. The speed is so slow because there are a ton of loops, and just tons of code being executed to run everything and make everything work (I wasn't a great programmer when I made this game). I'm very glad that you stuck with it and gave it a chance! It is fun if you get into it. Thanks again for reviewing!

i couldnt finish it

ok, i got 1 problem with this game.
the only problem i have with it is that i killed the Master guy, and then i was supposed to go check up on the sick girl and every time i had to fight i monster i was sent back to the place where i beat the master guy once i beat it. so i could never get back and check up. i never even got out of the god damned mountain.

Just no.

the graphics? they suck. I got about five minutes in before I decided "okay, the game itself sucks", the "plot" as far as I could stand it, was bland and unoriginal, I s'pose I should give it the chance to prove me wrong, but I don't want to waste my time. Also the dialogue is lame, I guess I can't really expect you to be the greatest dialogue writer in the world, but c'mon, if you're going to have a bunch of NPCs, at least give them something to SAY, or some actual purpose, rather then just have them there on every damn screen with stupid one liners that don't even make sense half the time. And when you actually had some dialogue, it was stupid, I mean they would blatantly point out what you need to do, and considering how you don't have much in the way of options, telling you what to do in detail is a bad choice, I'm not saying don't have them give some idea of what's nescessary, I'm just saying don't have them come right out and say it. And while I won't fault you for not making your own music, and while the music you chose for the most part is good, everyone uses that music, for everything, at the very least pick some more original *but still good* music.

it's also far too slow, I mean it's one thing if graphic quality was nicer, but when you obviously didn't spend much time on making things look nice, why make everyone else spend alot of time looking at something that doesn't look nice.

the battle system is okay, it's one thing if plot is generic, but it's understandable to have a well known and working battle system. but, speed it up, or make it turn based, rather then having the gauge.

Also, and this you just have to work with me on, while the being able to change the monster difficulty is nice, hooray bonuses, why in gods name do you have them become tougher as you become tougher? WHY? it's unnescessary! that's the worst system ever, there is no earthly reason for that to even be thought of as possibly a good thing. It defeats the purpose of levels, and it just makes the whole game longer. and you can't really justify it with adding more exp points depending on how tough a mob is, because again, levelling up is pointless in that scenario. and if your system that involves switching characters in battle is consistent, I suggest that you reconsider that , and just have both characters in battle, taking turns. It'll speed up random battles immensely, especially if you speed the game up in general.

I'm going to have to say that you aren't really well versed in RPG's, or that you have very poor taste in them, and suggest that you steer clear of the genre.

Interesting review. You'll be happy to know I don't plan on making anymore Flash games. I actually made this game about 3 years ago, and submitting it now for fun. I respect your opinion, while I think you should of played through a little bit more before judging it. Thanks for the 1 for the "okay" battle system though. ;)

Cool

Cool i really liked it but it froze when i saved so it lost all memory but still good game
