Reviews for "Agent Scarecrow #1"

Good Job!

Other then having a skip intro button I'd say it was pretty good. I like the art style and the combination of gameplay (even if the controls are a bit iffy sometimes but that's understandable). October is misspelled by the way.

Johnnybdesign responds:

If you travel to Montreal, you'll notice that there is such a thing called "French" ;) and they'll spell Octobre this way :) No mispelling there!

Thanks everyone for the comments. Again, I read them all but don't have the time to answer every single one of them (I could but how would I finish those Chapter 2 episodes :)

Anyway, all of your comments will be taken into consideration.

Your comments are motivating.

I like where this is going.

The intro does build everything up quite nicely. The only problem I have is if you choose to run and then shoot at the people at the door (btw, I think it'd be funny if you had made the one with the moustache look like Dan Akroyd to go along with the one who looks like John Belushi), the men blend in with the parking garage too much. But that's my only problem. I seriously hope you can follow up to this and build up the story. I think it's great that have users saying stuff like "Maybe I could be like James Bond." But I personally prefer the dark and shady side of espionage.

I suppose that I have only two pieces of advice for you...

When this series is over, put them all in to one big omnibus edition.

and...

End this story with a bang.

Johnnybdesign responds:

Indeed, that would be a HUMONGOUS omnibus edition...

I like it dark, shady and borderline gory as well ;)

Cheers,
JB

Well done!

Well done! The intro gives a nice buildup to the story and makes you sort of say to yourself "Maybe I could really be like James Bond." Way to build it up!

Johnnybdesign responds:

I hope you'll be like James Bond... but with green t-shirt. :)

Very nicely done.

This game really surprised me. When I first started it, I thought to myself five minutes in "Oh damn, I have a bad feeling this is going to be cheese beyond belief". I was pretty wrong; The parts in the apartment really creeped me out, as did looking for the cubicle. It really kept you going for what was happening next.

There were some downsides, however. For one, that ridiculous fighting scene. No offense man, but it looked more like they were practicing ballet than fighting each other. Maybe next time it should be in first person, or maybe even RPG styled. The shooting portion was ridiculously hard, too.

I think the 'choose your path' parts of the game could be more challenging, as well. Granted, these types of games are unfortunately flawed to begin with, since you can do anything over that you screwed up on, but maybe cause some more consequences based on what you do.

Finally, the vocal audio got pretty shitty at times. Lots of nasty static popped in a couple times, which I suggest editing out sometime in the next installment.

Still, this is fantastic. I've kept the password for the next game down and I can't wait to try it out.

Johnnybdesign responds:

ROFL at the ballet. This is so funny. As I said, I didn't have any experience at all with fight scene. It was a big challenge for me. I would be happy to collaborate with experienced coders for future episodes.

Thanks for the review. I will keep your comments in mind for future chapters.

Cheers,
JB
