Reviews for "Sonic Cosmic Dimensions 3"

another job well done

even if you did take a while to make this one, i think the wait was well worth it. two question though; what exactly are the emblems for and does Kyros get some kind of super powerful attack sometime soon? i ask this because compared to the others, he seems pretty weak. anyway, great job!

One battle...? Pretty good though, and nice story

Congrats, on another seemingly successful flash animation and RPG. It is the best of the series so far and I believe that eventually the series may rival the 'Sonic's Quest For Power' series.

Graphics: The special effects were a lot better and some of the backgrounds seemed more appropiate, but the battle scene could be altered so that the camera is zoomed out a little more, it will distract the viewer from the pixelisation of the characters and it will allow the attacks to be more imaginative.

Style: Highly unique series due to original characters, but it clings onto final fantasy games like glue. This generates a little humour, but it can destroy style. As I am no specialist and thought it was unique, I'm give this section a ten.

Sound: The sound effects were one of largest improvements and the jukebox idea was pretty good. But the music was still the same as the previous games in this series; try other musics and don't have them on too long and a button to kill the music alone would be a life saver. Furthermore, some of the sounds, usually explosions, were quite loud and out of place compared to the other sound effects. I'll give an eight (good thing we can't have decimals) as the effects were really well handled and in synch with everything.

Violence: The blood effects were okay, but blood usually sprays out of the body and the fighting was kind of slow without any good camera movements. What I mean is that if one character is charging up the camera should focus on him/her.

Interactivity: The one battle that was in this flash I found to be good compared to that of the original sonic cosmic dimensions. The battle was really long and boring with the viewer's character being so weak and there was no real challenge to it; the player could just use the 'Flash Spin-Recover-Slide Tackle' tactic over and over again. To make the battle more interesting restrict the total amount of MP the player can get (MP can be restored by items of a limited quantity) and increase the number of moves the enemy has (like if the enemy's HP dropped below 500, then he could use a larger attack with his/her fury).

Humour: Not much really, just old FF jokes presented in ways that are predictable, but the flash wasn't based solely on this attribute (thankfully), so I won't deduct points that much.

Overall: Really good, but the graphics are stiff, they should be able to point or aim at things at an angle (in SwishMax, this is easily done by using two separate images). More battles are needed including a quick battle against Exodus (to give the viewer a better measurement on his strength in battle).

This may match Sonic's Quest and Sonic RPG but it will take time and a lot more episodes.

Good luck with number four, can't wait to see the rest of the story and any battles that might unfold.

Wow

That was the best flash you did ever.

WOW!

It´s better than part 1 and 2.
I love it.

It was good

i never really got past the first battle, it was a little unfair to fight with half the health of the opponet, even so, it was a good game, you might want to put in a little toturial though. btw, i played with speakers off so i rated sound 0, thats probably not my real opinion.

Arnas responds:

When I play without sound I always give them a 10. It's better to be nice and positive. Thanks either way. As I said. Building up a tactic is the thing to do in this RPG.

If you want to. You can skip the scene with scene select
