Reviews for "The Jewels Gear"

Is that the Riven Soundtrack?

Seriously... playing in the background. Is that Riven? You get props if it is.

Nice Game!

I thought this game was very good, and the difficulty being upped made it even better, but i was on level 21 (the one where you have to make 8 combos) i cleared the board twice (with 8 combos) and i didnt get passed to the next level. maybe its something you may want to look into.

Good...

...but I noticed the music is the one used in the Submachine series. I don't know if you needed his permission to use it, cuz I'm not sure it's his, but it's definitely the same music.

Good Game

An excellent game. Perhaps just a little too easy, especially the combe levels. but judging from other reviews you got it about right overall. Otherwise brilliant. Graphics and style worked together well. Would mention a couple of small niggles. Might want to make the gem splitting sound a little less unpleasant and more climatic, so that it a noise to be savoured at the end of each level. Could make the control method (i.e it is the half of the screen you click on that dtermines direction of rotation) a little clearer, just a line of text at the intro would have saved me wondering. Maybe have a couple of levels that had such ideas as needing to use one set of gems to set up the next, so that the order in which the gems were removed would matter to whether or not the puzzle could be solved. Perhaps making the white gems play a bigger part in the game. And if you are going to make "Distinct Objectives" your unique selling point then maybe a few more and varied objectives such as "complete within six moves" or "do not remove green gems" would have helped. Otherwise it was an excellent puzzle, doing what all puzzles should do very well, i.e. teaching you a simple skill and then asking you to apply it to a range of increasingly complex situations. Just that the situations never quite got complex enough.

Puzzling

That was easy until lvl 10, then the difficulty jumped up several notches. The first few levels I did it in a matter of turns, but come level 11, I had made 330 turns, and was going round in circles. I thought sod it, I would've been there forever.

Good game to get the mind working anyways. 7/10
