An honest review for the artist.
Well, Mr. Notorious, it seems that you have a nice dystopian view into the future. ....you know, not that it's anything original *cough Shadow on the Hearth, Fallout (video game series, think you would love it), Russia until Stalin, The Nazis which have been already examined upon by previous reviews... etc. Actually, I'm just playing around. It was a pretty neat flash, but holy hell did it progress slowly and did I have to squint my freaking eyes to look at the script. I don't care that it wasn't really a high quality graphics piece, but after watching it I don't feel any different. Yeah, ** END SPOILER FOR TWO MINUTE PRODUCTION **: We have the guy suiciding at the end, but... who cares? I mean, do you have any idea how many people die around the world each day from even more horrible and gruesome and painful deaths than what happened in the 40's? I think the day the columbine shooting happened, Clinton issued a routine statement of, "And fighting in the middle east continues and blah blah let's say 80 people were killed by explosives and a few cities were bombed." Then, an hour or so later, Bill comes back on with, "My fellow Americans... I express my deepest regret..." you know the speech. My point is, we don't know a damn thing about this guy, why he's suiciding, why we should care (Maybe because he's white?), maybe because he's been living with little food in an attic? Is that it?
Overall, most of the flash I didn't know precisely what the hell was going on, except that in the beginning the place was polluted and an army has occupied a town. No warning of biological weapons or nothing, hell, we have more pollution already to probably have cause for wearing gasmasks (exaggeration). Some random guy killing himself out of fear of what would happen to him if he went with the masked guys. Boohoo. Horrible future? How about this sort of stuff still goes on today. Maybe the real fear is that it might happen to us, you or me, not in some far off country where they are either genetically predisposed towards mass genocide and torture and random murders or heretic religious fanatics or whatever ridiculous or plausible things people believe goes on in other countries to cause these things to happen. That's why I don't think this is any type of dystopian future, this is a dystopian present that the video responses are playing into to further the horror because the viewers are not realizing that they should be doing something about stopping it from happening anywhere regardless of who is involved, or because they simply do not know what is really going on outside their bubbles.
I apologize if I have any errors.
I thought you might like a big response, and some positive criticism. Nice cartoon.
