Reviews for "Hey Soul Sister (Cover)"

great cover

sounds great, I love how soulfully you sing the lyrics, way better than the original in that respect in my opinion. you might want to subdue the drums a bit so that the ukulele ss up front more, I feel like the drums are grabing alot more attention than they should. I don't know, maybe add a very small amount of reverb to the ukulele so that it has a fuller sound. great Job overall though.

Alright, this is gonna hurt a bit, sir. I apologize, and I want to preface this with the disclaimer that I enjoyed the song quite a bit.

However, you're flat. The margin of error varies from time to time, but you are always at least a 16th of a tone flat. Part of this may be perception on my part due to the lack of warmth of tone, but there it is.

Also, about that warmth....there's no warmth or roundness to your voice. You're singing very straight and, while that would work very well in a choral setting (where there are others around you supplying warmth and roundness while you define the tone), it doesn't work for a solo. All the warmth and emotion has to come from your voice.

All that said, however, the instrumentation was gorgeous and the tracks were well balanced for importance. I definitely enjoyed it, but.....not a ten. If I might suggest something, go see a voice coach or a good choir director if you would like to develop your voice. You've got a lot of the basics down, but a bit of professional training does absolute wonders.

Peace! :D
