Reviews for "Tower's Tactics: Throne"

Great

Loved this game. Everything was perfect. MAKE A sequel!!!!!

truely a masterpiece

the graphics are excellent, but it takes too long to wait for each openings, maybe you can add a button to let people who dislike the long openings to skip them?

for gameplay, the units are a little bit small and it becomes difficult to control when they stacks with the enemies, even though you group them, you cannot read the HPs of units, and you takes some time to click on the scroll and choose the units...at that time the unit may be dead

i think the modes are too few...after getting pwned by chancellus all i could continue playing is via field battle, which the enemies are fixed, it gets boring soon, maybe extend the campaign or add other modes? =)

anyway, other parts are excellent, keep up the good work!

A wonderful game, hope there's more

What's good about this game?
It's certainly one of the most sophisticated games on Newgrounds, with sterling graphics, significant complexity, and an original plot wrapper. It has a *great* soundtrack, and excellent features like a wonderfully deep spell list that varies with each of a wide number of characters.

What could use improvement?
- As others have said, the game can bog down into a micromanagement nightmare. This happens because, during fights, all the characters bunch together into a big overlapped heap. This happens because all characters fight on a line, so only engage each other when they're next to each other. A prior reviewer suggested hotkeys, allowing the user to press "1" for hero, "2" for whoever's deployed second, etc. I agree with this suggestion entirely. I'd also consider changing the battle perspective to be overhead, a la StarCraft or WarCraft, which would also prevent this overlap problem.

- The experience and character development system is kind of unclear. Maybe include some kind of measure of how far each character is to the next level, and what you get with the level up.

- Also, I think the spell system is a little unclear. I'm not sure how much damage each spell does, how long each takes to recharge, etc.

Okay, that's enough for now. Great work.

Thanks for your review, and to everyone who has reviewed so far! I value your suggestions. I can see how this game would easily get boring from micromanagement, and how the overlap, small units, and overall battle system could get inconvenient. I'll be sure to keep them in mind if I make a future game.
