Reviews for "Submachine 4: the Lab"

Beauty

this is shear beauty, my brain hurts now tho

Finishing the game was a blast.

I loved it! Especially finding the secrets. The whole puzzle is pretty flawless. Not insanely hard and yet far from obvious.

I found all secrets(I think...) and ended up with 22/21 when it was time to put them in the machine...You're quite the nice guy to give people a chance at getting a free secret if they missed one in the game ;P

Anyways it was great to solve and I'm looking forward to another game of such style from you!

(P.S.: I finished the game and got 22 secrets, saw the bonus... is there anything else to find?)

Submachine 4

Dude I just love the submachine-games. I still think that Submachine 3 was the best, because this one was a little too easy.
I finished it in 2 hours (Submachine 3 took me nearly 10!)...
And yes I know I usually suck at those games. :P
I stopped playing those internet logic-games since I sat 2 days on one (of course with saving), but Submachine brought me back on this. Thank you for that!

So, to this part... What can I say? It's very impressive, the idea with the teleporter was pretty nice and the notes made it much more interesting. This Submachine was the most bizarrely of the games because of some locations I was unable to visit and because of the ending...
To the unvisitable locations:
What was the meaning of the black background at the most left side of level "Lighthouse Digouts"?
And if you are in the lab and klick on the gratings right beside the teleporter, what floor do you see there? And where does it lead to?

To the ending:
Not so special ending. I expected something like on Submachine 3, an ending video, but... (I don't want to say more and spoil everything for the gamers) The extras were pretty cool through and I must say I really wonder how you can create games with such old computers...

But all in all, it is a real good game and fits nicely into the stroyline of Submachine.
And for the last question... Is there going to be a 5th Part? :)

Hope to see some more of those lighthouse-series (and of course of your other games)!

Great Game, but one problem.

This game was really good, but there's one problem. I found 20 of the secrets, but then accidentally missed the one in the ending room. Is there a portal number to get back to this room?

As always, a pleasure to play...thank you!

I've played the all submachine series, and it has been responsible for many hours lost in front of my PC. But it's just the right thing when you've had a rough day IRL. No time limits. No worries about lost lives. Nothing that you have to explain if your kid comes in your room and sees your screen. It makes you think, and it immerses you into a world that, for a brief period of time, is both haunting and fascinating. I've played "Myst", "Riven", "Alone in the Dark", "Shivers" and many other puzzle-type games. Your story lines and puzzles are on par with the best of them. The only difference is the level of graphic detail - but that means little. Keeping in mind that this is all done in Flash, you've done one heck of a job!

All I ask is one thing (unless I missed it) - adding a savepoint option, so when you do fall asleep at your keyboard at 4 AM, you can pick up where you left off the next day.

Keep up the great work. Can't wait for #5.

And thanks again for a great game.
