This was average.

Don't be alarmed. This is a competition submission, and it's also on the frontpage, so I'm going to be more harsh than I would be with most of the trash on newgrounds.

First of all, I hate the message. Yeah, yeah the world is fake and everyones a sell-out. I've heard it all before and it's pseudo-bohemian trash, everyones a sell out, everyone sells their life for monetary value (you don't? Do you not have a time consuming job that you need to work for money)

Second of all, the vocals were poor. The range was so small people over the age of 40 would think it's monotonous. She also sings nervously (hopefully not on purpose). I'm a vocalist myself and the two main things I'm told to concentrate on are efficient and relaxed vocal chords and making the notes sound like a brick (that is solid, and the same shape all the way through with as little dips as possible). Of course if you're doing negro spiritual dipping and sliding is done intentionally, but this isn't negro spiritual and when you do stuff like that it sounds pretty terrible.

The graphics were the best part, smooth animation, you're a very talented animator. You lost points there for taking a lot of shortcuts, unnecessary shortcuts (you proved early in the flash that you can do it, then you showed later in the flash that you weren't will to).

Please know (whether you think my criticism trivial or not) I'm doing this for your benefit. Too many people have said 'wow dat waz gewd zomg 10/10' and even you have to be annoyed by that.

It had a meaning o:

I think it was a tad too simple and how you critizice people who become pop-stars, is very short shighted and discriminatory.
It was very good animated, the message of this flash just didn't appeal to me at all, because it is very generalizing.

You show them as mindless puppets, who may and can not think about anything themself (Ofcourse I'm not saying that this doesn't count at all, since that would be stupid), but you should be more perspective.

Look behind the glamour of their life and show their emotions, show people that they truly are humans aswell, instead of making them looks like robots who have had breast implants and fat suctions.

Neither did the music appeal to me. The lyrics didn't appeal to me. They are just as judgemental as the overall flash don't.
The music itself isn't so well made either, it is very repetetive and you can barely understand what the songstress is sining.

Overall: Your only getting a 5, because your so good at animating.
You can improve a lot in compiling having messages which shows a little more of the emotions inside a human, instead of just the outside.
