Reviews for "Vintage Spice"

I was hoping it was gonna be porn :'(

Dahlia-K responds:

Sorry to have disappointed you:) but I appreciate the beauty of humans' bodies for artistic interpretation purposes and not for shallow ones. :)

Is this in reference to the Spice Girls? Because I really do love the Spice Girls.

Dahlia-K responds:

When I finished it and took a final look at it yes it reminded me of Spice Girls lol.. They're only the best. My entire childhood was based on them haha

Fros, shades, and bright colors. Those have always been part of the beauty of black women. Sadly it's hardly ever expressed.

You're right about the vintage thing. If you went back and looked at some black models in the 60s or 70s, they're decked out in color. Even if their skin was dark, the colors contrasted and complimented their flawless skin in a way that just made you happy by looking at it.

I'm seriously loving the shading, colors, inks and even the tats.

I'm saving this pic, btw. :D

Dahlia-K responds:

It's my first time I paint dark skin..and may I say I am absolutely in love with it. The way it reflects all colors around it is super fascinating. I honestly got sick of seeing light skinned characters in art.. It became like a routine... I noticed how the 60's and 70's era isn't expressed enough..so I thought I'd combine it with my favorite, the 50's era... And I am addicted to that eversince.
Plus, tatts look damn sexy on anyone;)

excellent shading and lighting and a good amount of detail, everything stands out, very well done.

Dahlia-K responds:

Thankyou very much!:D

And here we have an example of how afros can be very attractive. Excellent choice of colours, they match extremely well. I like the little rainbow on her glasses.

Amazing painting, you're very talented. Keep it up!

Dahlia-K responds:

Afros are so damn sassy and beautiful. I wish artist's pay more attention to that!
