Reviews for "A Parting Shot II"

More contrast!

It seemed like a good gme, but I couldn't get past the fact that everything is so dark. I can't see the arrows against the dark green brown and black backgrounds, and I have to squint to know where my guy is.

Cool but too hard.

This first boss is too hard. First my tough was that it is immpossible. After that i found out that it is possible to slow him down by shooting him at his hand after he made strong strike. But after half of health he started to get reinfosments and that showed that such tactic has no sence eather becouse you do not have enough time to kill swordsman and slow him down... So he walks faster than you. If only his strike was strong one than that would be fine but he also has those fast strikes... they make it worse. Basicly you can say that after the half of his health you get one hit per each arrow you shoot. And he has more health... So thats it... No reason to try again. This game shore is fun but time and strength needed to overcome that boss is too big. After 2 lives lost to him it was not fun any more... MAy be there is some way to dodge or something but i can understand how is it possible to kill him. Every possebility to beat him fades after half of hp is taken from him...

Alright but needs improving

Decent but a few problems. The major one is the limited ability to control your guy. There isnt much you can do to dodge arrows other than run away and jump so they only hit your legs.

You are unable to micromanage your movement. Essentially the animation of the walking puts you a relatively far distance ahead and makes it quite aggravating when you die because your long stride leads you off a cliff and jumping beforehand makes you jump off of it as well. The flurry of attacks is unrealistic and makes it cheezy

It was pretty cool but...

It felt way too slow. The game would be a lot better if it was more fluid like in it's animation. Try turning up the FPS.

Canadian-Jeff responds:

Yup.

Improving framerate is the top priority for me.

hm, i sort of didn't like it

the game is very long, without any continues once you run out of lives. Also the replay value isn't very good, so i found that it wasn't very....intimidating. I know you were trying to make a game to put people on the edge of their seats, but i don't think it was a good game for that. Game over, try again?
