Reviews for "Bubble Tanks"

Excellent Stuff

I like how the bubble upgrades as you kill more stuff and collect their corpses.

heh

pretty good i played for over half an hour! i reached the upgrade where you shoot a huge red bubble and one small red bubble and a shield. tell me if theres a higher one :D btw if u can shoot the huge red bubbles then the games easy from there on.. you just stay right ontop of the other tank and shoot. it gets killed almost right away most of the time.

It was great...

... except for the bubble collecting sound. Too loud, I think. Other than that, I absolutely love this game.

I do agree it's too short and you level up too fast, however, it illusioned me into feeling powerful and skilled. I don't mind so much that kind of illusion.

Right on. Keep pumping out such fabulous games. I'm all about decent content in the portal.

Pimp my bubble!

Dear goodness, man! That was the most fun I've had in a while. The grphics were smoooth and the sound was clear and calming. It is an almost perfect game-scheme. My only qualms are that there is no hidded Final Boss bubble, and that the best bubble I can get is vastly inferior to the BubbleStations you encounter towards the edge of the map (Yes, there is an edge). This is not a bad thing, however, as it forces the player to youse every strafe, turn, and trick they have; unlike other games where at the end it fails to be difficult.
Forget voting 5, my freind. I will use my voting power to more than double that. Take heed, fellow gamers. This earned it!

Fun... while it lasted

Very fun game for about 15 minutes, after that you just end up flyining around hoping you'll get another upgrade.
That being said, this game has some very good things going for it.
1. Simple and addictive gameplay:It's classic, but still somehow fresh.
2. Good graphics:The way your tank morphs and becomes bigger is cool.
3. Nice sound design:It all seems so melodic and musical.

The downside is I feel like I've played this game before, back when it was called Flow. Not a bad game to imitate, but the way some of themes connect is a litttle too much to be coincidental.

Final verdict: A nice diversion. Not long or that original, but fun.

(Now, if only there were more powerups.)

HeroInteractive responds:

Flow was definitely a large source of inspiration. Not so much in that it has a similiar ambiance with circles and whatnot, but more in taking the research that Jenova Chen made and putting it into practice. I think he's right on the money about allowing users to subconciously choose difficulty. The game was also inspired by other games such as Neon, the recently released Hover Tank Arena, the Orisinal games, and even a little bit by Mega Man.

I recognize though, that there are some similarities, but I'm hoping people will see it also as its own unique game.

As far as maxing out your tank quickly, yeah, it's an issue. For sure, in sequels there will be something to satisfy the larger challenge seeking crowd, with much more enemies, tank states, weapons, etc...

Thanks for the feedback!
