Reviews for "Metal Ball"

No doubt about it, Marble Madness reincarnate

And just like Marble Madness, it can be frustrating to a fault, yet still be highly addictive.

Graphics: Simple designs, but that's enough for a game like this.
7/10
Sound: Decent background song, though I guess there's more in the complete game right? Whatever.
I noticed a distinct lack of sound F/X and felt that it somehow robbed the game of a deeper sense of "realism". Three cases would be when your ball goes off the track, when you reach a check point, and when you finish a track.
7/10

Style: While an entertaining idea, its hardly original, nor is it originally implemented.
5/10

Gameplay: The movements and reactions of the ball were acceptable (i.e. I didn't feel like smashing my keyboard in frustration). I was extremely appreciative of the infinite "lives" you get to finish a level, and even moreso the checkpoints for the larger tracks. Nothing spectacular, but no real flaws either.
7/10

Improvements:
Consider the following:

-Two levels of difficulty (current game as beginer level and an advanced that has a set number of lives and less checkpoints)

-Modifiers that can augment the ball from how it moves to whether or not you can see it for a while (the ramps were a start but just not enough).

Well that's about it. Not a bad job for such a dated video game concept.
7/10

ATTENTION FRUSTRATED PLAYERS

On narrow passages, note the clip area does not include the "ledge area closest to the player, so you can move your ball onto the ledge area facing you without actually going over. Use this extra space.

Believe me you'll understand the second you figure out what I'm describing.

-Take care all!

thanks for the review.
i will soon working on the 2nd version

it LOOKS good

dude you got graphics its just that the controls felt a little funky. Like if it was in 1st person the controls would be good. thats's about it though good game though

its ok

why do u fall on one side to quickly and on the other to late, i mean the 3d part of ur course should be the side, u should fall off when u go over that part. and on the other side ur not even near the end and ur dead:S:S:S

Marble Madness

Not bad. It's like a Flash version of Marble Madness. Background and music are attractive. Controls are easy enough.

Things that bothered me:
1) The ball vaporizes when it goes off an edge. Shouldn't it fall off?
2) The ball is not animated. If it looked like it were rolling it would be much nicer.
3) Why are you making me look at a penguin screen saver ad after each level? I have to be careful what I click during your game so that I don't pop up an ad. Unacceptable.

screwed up physics

The slopes are done all wrong. You can actually go up onto a slope and come to a stop, and you'll just stay there, without pressing any keys, and you won't roll off it. A slope in this game seems to multiply your motion in the down and sideways directions, which is definitely not the same as what a slope should do.

It was also kind of annoying that pressing two keys like up and left does not make me go exactly diagonally along the game board. It makes me drift slightly.
