For sure, this is a cute game, very simple and fun to play for stretches at a time. The monotone-purple is a nice look.
I think you need to make it clear that you have to fire the same kind of pirate as the one you're aiming at to get a hit.

a very fun game, but the collision detection was very frustrating. you could fire right through a pirate 3 or 4 times and still lose a life
