Reviews for "Throwback the Duck Ep. 1B"

Very nicely done

The animation is great, the voice dubbing is done very well, and it has a good plot. I was wondering if you were ever going to make another episode of this. I saw episode 0 and I was hoping it wasn't going to take the road of Duke Nukem Forever (At least Vista should run it out of the box).

But anyways, keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more episodes.

Now give me a dollar.

Extremely well Produced but...

So from your responses to other authors I've garnered that this is "tounge-in-cheek" humour and mimicking the crappy quality of 80's and 90s saturday morning toons.

1st off this is an extremely ambitious proect that took alot of work. It definately shows and the final product is excecuted flawlessly. I can't give you a legitimate critique on your animation style because of the high quality you managed to maintain through two episodes.

I'll have to admit that the only flaw with this animation series is the scripting. Often times this just isn't funny. I understand that you are going for a comedy movie, and not just any comedy movie, but a "tounge-in-cheek" comedy movie of the style of scream. Well to be honest scream wasn't a comedy movie of the highest caliber. Better "tounge-in-cheek" examples would be the OLD pink panthers with Peter Sellers.Relating you animation to the Pink Panther is more apt due to the overlapping themes of detectives/journalists.

Yes, I understand you aren't trying to fit in a joke a second and make this a laugh fest but a serious more slow paced comedy does need its jokes to be funny when they appear. There is almost no build up to the jokes, no clear punch line, and they often go WAY to long (like the asian person depiction) It's also alright to be random to be funny. But again your not hitting my funny bone and it seems that your not hitting alot of other peoples funny bones.

This seems to be a theme. I'm not sure I can outright tell you how to be funny in a mere review but when a large number of people say, wow this is well done but not funny, and getting drawn out too long, perhaps you need to modify some things. I'm not even telling you to sell yourself short to the modern viewers' "short attention span" and make slapstick humour. If the comedic tensions is there, the viewer WILL pay attention and not get bored. With such good animating quality its a shame that the script is really pulling this flash down. It should be one of the best things on this site.

An awesome sequel to Episode 0.

Ever since you uploaded Episode 0 I was eager to view ep. 1, and you fullfilled, well if not even surpassed, my expectations.
From the story it's kind of 'EH?', but what the hell the animation and style is great so it's a joy nevertheless, and actually there might be some interesting twists. ^^

Excellent.

My prediction if I may...
The angry Asian man is the one who planted the bomb, he words for a rival game company (Sony?) and that is why he was such a big part in this episode. I liked it a lot though. I saw the first one and was instantly hooked. Another reviewer commented on the voice of Throwback and I didnt notice how bad it was until i focused on it. It does sound very dry like someone just reading, but the voice itself is excellent for the character. Excellent work!

I really love this... then again...

I really like where this is going. You guys should really try for television or something, maybe not with this, considering how esoteric the themes can be sometimes, but with maybe another video-game or/and animal show!

Speaking of esoteric...
Honestly I hope that you won't push the nintendo themes at the extreme for us people that don't know too too much about it! It's your choice, really, but I felt like I was missing something since I didn't know who was that Bubsy bobcat.

Maybe consider putting subtitles? Sometimes I didn't get what the robot small bird said.

By the way, what was up with that chinese dude?!

Finally, am I the only one that noticed the stricking ressemblence between Throwback (why this name anyway) and Donald Duck? I don't mind though, Donald Duck represents my childhood all alone anyway.

Last but not least, I honestly have to say that the music is really really good. The choice and composition (theme song) is simply amazing!!! You got to keep that up, I'm convinced it's part of this cartoon's success because it gives such an attitude!

Few I said all I had to say...I'm looking forward to the other episodes!
