Not as good as the original
I found it to be more difficult than it's predecessor, and not nearly as fun or interactive with the lack of options as to infection type. The script wasn't on par with the game itself, and drew quality away from what there was to begin with. Not terrible, but not something I'd play again. A decent attempt as a whole.
Rediculous
Everything is on chance. There isnt any plausible strategy involved! I tried constant different ways to no avail. Dumping points into resistance, which would nearly prevent countries researching a cure, doesnt do a damn thing. Everything is pure chance.
Missingone thing
This game, minus the fact you took out all the cool 'mods' to your virus, seems too watered down.. if your an eastern coutnry its hard to even know its infected (due to the darker shading). This game is WAYY to random.. loosing after the first turn? that should be impossable.
There is one thing this is missing however, that niether versions have, the ability, like a REAL virus, to MUTATE. you should always be sturggling with the cure, but you should also be able to mutate so that the current cure is usless.
Countrys shouldnt start developing the cure if htey dont have the virus IMO, cause hten your just shit out of luck.

I think you should do a thrid one, taking the good things about the first that you "missed" here (the grafics, the ability to modify your virus,etc.) and some things you add here that helps to avoid the needing of luck to win (things such as fighting against the cure of the virus, beeing you who spred the virus and polute the water, etc.). I think you should make a bit slower the discover of the virus thought (maybe making the game a bit slower).
If you do that in a new game, I'm sure it will be a great game.

Dispite what others say.....
I liked it. Here is why, yes it is difficult, isn't that what video games are supposed to be? The replaability factor is good because the first time I infected one country, the next all but 3 then then next all but one. I have still yet to beat the game and thats a good thing. Although I do agree more points would would be good also when I restart the game it won't let me click some buttons. Other then that good show.
