good game

that was a pretty good game. i've played some with the similat concept to it before, but this one was also very original as well. a little simple, but it did offer a nice challenge, good weapons, nice action, cool graphics and audio and it was a blast to play.
good work on this one and congrats on getting this one an award and front page recognition.

Are you the same creator of the SC Flash Actions? Cuz I could almost swear the start and loading menu is the same. But anyways, great job. One of the BEST defense games I've ever played in Flash.

One of the best defense games I've played. I liked the graphics and the variety of enemy sprites and strengths.

Yeah, I have to agree with the other people that quad cannon is pretty useless unless you have enemies coming from exactly 90 degree angles, which would spare you 3 clicks, and which doesn't occur frequently.

Rather than making the levels random-ed a bit, try making a few levels where enemies will line up exactly the 90 degree angle so that players will get a feel of the quad's importance, because in most stages I can wipe out the entire wave using one cannon and weapon 2. Like how some of the levels have a suicide plane strike from all directions, which demonstrates the importance of weapon 4.

Weapon 3 is a luxury weapon. It drains too much energy. You can offset this by maybe affording the player more energy capacity per upgrade. Significant improvements on the capacity, I mean.

Overall, I really enjoyed the game. Those spider enemies remind me of a certain unit in Total Annihilation (PC game).

4 cannons are usefull in Survivall Mode when you have alot of ammo for weapon #3 and Damage Powerup!

Weapon #3 is my favorite and the one I use the most!

And those spider are inspired by Crimsonland.

I've played this for a while. I'm at level 26 now (using a laptop touchpad). I like the game and most of the weapons. Two things seemed pretty useless to me though:
1. The quick gun (gun #3) is just worse than the standard non-quick gun (gun #2). It has a smaller blast radius and it uses up energy too quickly, and it doesn't allow you to carefully measure exactly enough shots to kill a given enemy like the non-quick gun does.
2. The "quad" part of the game is dumb. It uses up energy much too quickly for the purpose of firing in 3 other directions which is nearly useless since you can only aim one gun at a time. After three or four seconds with gun #2 on all 4 turrets, I'm out of energy, whereas I could last for just about forever if it's on only 1 turret. Maybe if you made it take only a little more energy, it would be worth using. If using all 4 guns took only 50% more energy than using just 1, then it would be worth it.

Also, I think the shield upgrades are a bit weak--there's almost no reason to invest in shields because investing in more damage to prevent the enemies from getting to you is so much more important. Once you're fighting the big enemies, 60% more shields isn't going to save the day for you.

1. orly? most people who helped me testing the game said that weapon #3 was the most powerfull and usefull in the game. Its the most usefull weapon in the game.

2. Activating all the 4 cannons in scenario mode is not very usefull indeed, I still used 2 cannons sometimes to shoot enemies at oposite sides.
However there is a Survival Mode with no energy bar and there are enough ammo to shoot all the 4 cannons!
4 cannons + weapon #3 + Damage Amplifying Powerup is the best solution :P
