Reviews for "Red Skies"

Gets too easy

Since you keep a majority of your money when you die, (except the first couple levels) its too easy to exploit hitting the gunboat and destroyer up to 5 or 6 times to get massive points to buy with. It also is fairly slow paced until you get the way overpowered upgrade for the machine gun, then it becomes far too easy unless you've purposely avoided certain upgrades to make it more interesting for yourself. Some of the graphical things were well done for a flash game, but it's definatly a game I would only feel like playing once. And as with many games, i have a problem with the cheesy storyline of like, a half hour of flying or fighting changes the course of a war because of this one person, ya know?

Far too easy.

Up until i got the úber-cannon-of-power i was finding it pretty quite challenging. I mean, you might as well have given me a frickin' lazor beem or something, that cannon was the equivalent. Apart from that, it was a very nice little game. Albeit, the story isn't exactly original:D The 'Soldier of Fortune' thing gets done too much nowadays. "Hooray i single handedly saved the motherland! Oh yeah, with the help of the AI samsites."

Samsites were actually pretty cool i have to admit.

The graphics were nice and sexy and well done, the way i like em. Sound was okay too, you cant beat the *Drrrrrr* of the uber-cannon^^

I MIGHT go and play again but leave out the uber-cannon just to see what thats like. Humor a 3 because i found blowing up trillions of dollars worth of USA planes a blast!

Attention to detail

I like how you paid attention to historical accuracy such as the correct naming of the aircraft potrayed in the game and even the equipment used. (The Phantoms, Crusaders, K-13 and R60 Missiles).

On easy, it's too easy to replay levels and wait and upgrade since you don't lose that many stars for getting shot down. You pretty much will have a super plane after playing level 3 a few times. Also, the plane's movements are very sluggish and it's impossible to dodge some missiles and bullets.

To the guy who says the game is Chinese propoganda, I've got a few things to say: First off, the game takes place in Vietnam (Why on the front page it says defending Russian Skies, I don't know) and the plane is a Mig-21 which was designed by Soviet Russia. It's about equal in capability with the Phantom (though the game is right stating it is slightly inferior to it). Secondly, this is not a flight-sim so that's one plane can go around shooting down 20 planes without getting shot down itself. There have also been actual computer flight sims produced featuring Russian aircraft such as the MiG-29 and IL-2 (in the case of the IL-2, it was a WWII aircraft and thus you may consider it a "good guy" plane since the Russians were allies back then. In fact, some if not many of those sims were not designed by Russian or even Eastern sources, are those still "Russian Propoganda" regardless?

good game

it is hard but in a fun way love the soundtrack to
it is a real style maker

Good, but easy

I liked the setting, the accurate plane models, and the classic shooter format; but the upgrades made the whole thing too easy. After having bought all the upgrades, the difficulty dropped so much, I was convinced there must be more than only five levels.
