Reviews for "Max Mesiria Chp2 RPG"

love it

I love this game

Stunning.

Kudos to you. This is a phenomenal submission.

Great!

An idea though would be to after you finish the whole thing make it into one whole game if possilbe, and add it as a download or something if it is to big to show. also, on both games, if you switch out you keep walking if you were still holding the button. (Don't worry though, as some major games have that problem)

(Note, the 0 in sound is because i don't have my speakers on)

Interesting.

Quite an interesting game you made here.
It's got a NES/anime feel to it.
Intriguing storyline.
I think I'm about to beat it, too.

Good. Real good.

I demand an explanation!

I do not understand, in the least, how this game does not have a rating of at least a 4.00. Sometimes the voting of NG users truly confuses me. I have tried to make a flash rpg game before, spending about 2 months on it (but giving up shortly after) and I can't even put a value on how much better this game is than it.
The graphics are absolutely amazing - may I ask how you made them? The entire world is like a work of art, and I am greatly interested in how you managed to create it.
The sound is ok, but I would have liked to hear some possibly less cheerful, more "intense" music during the battles. The music during fights made it seem as if I had already won. More sound effects would be nice as well.
The gameplay does get a bit repetitive quickly - I'm not a huge fan of random battles, but I respect that some people find them more fun than frustrating. It would have been nice, as I think has been mentioned before, if the keyboard could be used to control the character in battle.
The scripting behind the game looks rather complicated - I'm surprised it didn't start lagging. (Or perhaps it did, and I just couldn't tell.) I find that when I add too much script to my own games, the lag becomes unbearable. It seems to be fine here though. I liked how the computer characters walked around the town themselves, and then stopped when you impede their way - a small detail, probably, but it was impressive to me. :P
Overall, great game, perfect graphics. I wish I could make games at least half as well as this! Excellent work.

SnailsAnimation responds:

Hi! Thank you for the great comments.
We too were expecting more than the score we have at the moment, but it's slowly raising :) So it's cheering up, and especially after seeing all the nice reviews. About the graphics, some of the animations were made on paper then later traced and colored in flash (mostly in chp1). In chapter two, most of the enemies were drawn directly in flash (with a graphic tablet). As for the backgrounds, they were made in photoshop.
About the music, we know it could fit better in some places, and that's why someday we wish to have our own Mesiria soundtrack. That would be so sweet!
About the actionscripting, we are actually 2D animators who learned programming, not the inverse. So programming for us is a real challenge! We're really happy you were impressed.
Thanks again, and try to beat us at the battle mode (Vurmit and BloodyMarie)
