Freaking Sweet dude

I Really like it, I think it has a western feel to it and in some parts a big city feeling, I Think you did a really good job with this

Best song atmosphere I've heard in months.

I'd call this the best you've ever done so far, or at least my favourite from you. It sounds so atmospheric, as usual, but has a variety of superb sounds which fit flawlessly together. Naturally, the production is all great, and this has loads of different sections which all sound fantastic. You're a musical prodigy, you know that?

I'll review the song as I go along, since this has so many different sections that it's impossible to talk about all of them together.

0:00 (Intro) : Very nice way to start the song up. The bass guitar started it smoothly, and then it instantly moved on to the main guitar plucks which are heard throughout the song. The slight ambiance at the beginning was a nice touch, and the transition to the drums was smooth. Oh, and that synth which comes in around the 1:00 marker... wow...

0:32 : The drums come in over here, so I may as well comment about them. The 9/8 beat works out really well, although I think the drums could've been a slight bit better, especially that snare. I think the snare sounds a bit too... heavy, for an atmospheric piece like this. Maybe a lighter snare with a little bit of reverb on it might work a bit better.

Other than that the drums are insanely well made.

1:28 : A new section comes in, and it's in 4/4. Transition was a bit abrupt, but works fine. At first I thought this part stood out a bit too much (almost reminded me of a pop song of some sort) but at 1:41 the wonderful atmosphere returns. Loved the drum fill at 1:40, by the way.

2:07 : Awesome drum solo... is awesome :D.

2:14 : You repeat the main theme again, giving the song a solid structure. Not much to say except great job, I guess.

2:42 : The song gets even more atmospheric. One thing which irked me a bit was that oboe (?) at 2:50. It sort of comes in a bit unexpectedly. But I'm just trying to nitpick here - from then on the oboe sounded superb and fit very well.

3:12 : After another cool drum fill, the drum beat enters. Over here is where I first noticed that you switched to 6/8. Another flawless transition. So flawless that I didn't even notice it.

3:30 : OK now this part is BY FAR my absolute favourite part from the whole song. Every time I hear the song I always long for this part to start. The introduction of the strings was wonderfully subtle, and the sound of the strings themselves was so mystical and amazing. You're constantly adding new sounds to the piece, and I've got to say, you're darn good at it.

3:50 : Another sublime part by those strings. Seriously, this part is so good it's giving me the goosebumps. How the hell can you be this good at making music?

4:09 : My favourite transition from the whole submission. Extremely smooth and linked the 6/8 section to the main 9/8 theme beautifully.

One thing which could have made this better was if you continued to play the strings, but playing them as long chords in the background, instead of just fading the strings note out. I think it would give the outro a bit more significance and end the song nicely. But then again maybe I'm just being biased because I LOVE THE SOUND OF THOSE STRINGS.

4:20 : 10/8 bar. But looks like I was too late to point that out, thanks to Shamukh.

4:49 (Ending) : After a whole five minutes, the song ends with a fantastic ending. It almost loops well too. Almost...

OVERALL COMMENTS:

I'm not going to lie to you; this is by far one of my favourite songs made by a Newgrounds artist, no joke. I never get tired of listening to this, and despite it being 5 minutes in length, it has enough different sounds and sections (not to mention time signatures...) to make it impossible for the listener to get bored listening to this.

So yeah, as a general conclusion the whole song sounds very atmospheric and all of the sounds fit so well with each other. There were a few things which bothered me, but those are all probably just personal preference. All in all, keep up the amazing work, and for god's sake, find some good way to sell your music, NOW.

Nice!

I really like this atmosphere, it's great, it's got smooth drums and great variation.
I think I've found the 10/8 part, by the way :P It's at around 4:20, you put an extra snare hit after the 9/8 :D
Anyway, this piece is musically complex and very interesting, something you hardly see here at NG. Great job, man!

What I was looking for.

I was smiling at the odd beat up until 1:00 when that weird synth or whatever came in and clashed too much for my ears =P. But after it went away it was all good. I love the drum beats and base.

This is my like, my theme right here!
