Good but needs some work...
Looks awesome, great job with the explosions and dynamics. Game play was too slow. I see comments about power-ups, where the hell were my power-ups? Are they invisible? Or are they simply in the form of the stock weapons? lol.
You get an eight for the graphics, maybe add some different weapon upgrades like the old school side scrollers, Also needs a POWER MOVE!!! Thank you for the game.

The first thing I didn't really like was the controls and they couldn't be changed. Secondly...I CAN'T MASH THE SPACEBAR ANY HARDER CAPTAIN! SHE'S ABOUT TO BLOW!
Seriously though, it's very pretty, the formations are awesome, I didn't play too far so I can't rate the difficulty, but a little tweaking could crank this up to 10 easily.
Add some 1/3 hit armor pickups and put some projectiles you can shoot to destroy and more enemy bullets. 1ups for 200 and every 300 after kills? The infamous destroys everything on screen pickup? 10 seconds of enemy seeking exploding snake looking drone pickup? I'm just throwing some shit at the wall here, but mix it up. This could be amazing rather than just ok. This could be THE MOTHERF***ING SWORD OF ORION. The instant 10! I'm telling you! Do it! Now! Ok?!

Frustration...
It's really frustrating that you die after 1 hit and that you lose powerups when you die. Other than that good game.

i agree with gradius dude down there, completely. ive been playin gradius 3 since i was 6 and id always get to the last stage before i died, all the power ups you get along the way gone. thats where id quit. upgrade the power ups, maby give the players a choice of what wepons systems they could use, and make it easier to aquire powerups. hey maby a shield would be cool???
