Reviews for "Islander Boys"

Fun to experience, but not a fun game imo.

After first losing against the big shark, i played again, getting all the way to the end.

Intro is epic - with the sound and fbf reveals - though it made me think the game was gonna be a bit more epic...

I found that it was hard to tell exactly where the projectiles were coming from - specially after the spears - and clicking quickly seemed to do more good than actually working out stuff and being accurate, as I tried to do on the first game.

I did like the story and various graphical touches (specially the fact that there's musicians on-board!), but the game mechanics just seemed too repetitive and too much about rapid clicking.

Maybe if we had a finite number of projectiles, which increased at a constant rate, it'd help it be a bit more strategic. And maybe pull out the screen a touch? Maybe jave our projectiles disappear when they hit an enemy?

Lastly, some of the attacks from the bosses just didn't seem to really be avoidable.

Fun to experience, but not a fun game imo.

pretty funny

it was pretty funny and the music was good. wasnt very challenging tho but i would love to play a sequel. good job

Hahaha... I like this game.

Yes, this very very good. When I beat this game I laughed at the ending part. I seriously hope you make more games. Also the music was just... kick ass like wow. Everything fitted very well except for the big shell things... that was quite weird. You could've added a little bit more into the game. Like more levels, more weapons. Very cool though. My hand was very tired after all that mouse clicking. That was a good exercise.

Nice Job, almost good. 3/5.

music!

lol good music
the game was kind of repetative, and a bit too simple. I went through it without taking damage, much less trying to survive like in other shooters. I wish the upgrades were more javelin/spear related as i really felt no satisfaction throwing shells. Also, make upgrades do more damage instead of taking up more space. Bosses were just clicking for 2 minutes.

I love that old guy in the front.

Absolutely superb flash game....

But like most have said, you made it too short, and too easy to beat. :(

We're all up for playing games and all, but what fun will it be with no challenge going for it? I mean, not to say it wasn't fun, but upping the difficulty a little wouldn't be too bad for such a great game as this.

The music, OH the music was fantastic! ^_^

I loved the stage music, I loved the intro music, I loved the boss music, I loved it all. The singers and the old man were hilarious as well. If anyone in Newgrounds was looking for good music while playing their flash game, this would definitely (IMO of course) be the number 1 flash game to play while listening to some awesome music.

I definitely didn't mind the fact that this didn't have an auto-fire button. Some people that I've seen don't like games without the auto-fire feature, but I think I liked it better with the fact that I had to spam the mouse clicker. :D

The graphics were quite superb, like how the old man went excited/furious whenever he saw a boss, or how the thrower changed in appearance after each "life up" power up I got, and the environment was well done.

I don't know why, but this game, in general, made me happy to play it. It's just a whole lot of fun to play, and I think it'd be pretty awesome if you continued a game like this, or something similar to it.

Well, awesome game, fantastic music, great graphics, and a nice sense of humor to boot. It had it all, except for the length of course. :P
