Reviews for "Where Water Once Was"

I always get this time-lapse feel from your music.

Like I can see two people walking with each other on the sidewalk, moving at a normal pace, while the world blurs by.

I always get taken to the same place with your music, and it's a comfortable feeling. Don't change what you do.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

I'm honored to have created such a cozy place for your ears and mind to bundle up in.

Its great to be able to create imagery with sound. A tangible place via sound wave; the vibrations constructing imaginary yet, seemingly tangible structures.

Pretty sweeeeet :D

Let's play the "What does this song make you think of game"!

A Dark figure rises from a geyser of light with white feathers flying everywhere.
He fades into an urban city that alternates between being underwater and in the sky.
Suddenly, he confronts an identical doppelganger betwixt the sea and the sky.
They stare each other down and eventually go there separate ways: one up, one down.
Posing as each other, they continue to live empty lives in their respective worlds.
It feels like a tragedy, as no one knew the change took place, because the two can't be hppy where ever they go.

That was fun, thanks.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

:)

awesome.

Woah!

This reminds me of Pink Floyd stuff, the way the percussion is played in the beginning. I loved the laid back feel along with the instruments you used, tip top man, I must say this is play hours on end material. I think the snare was a bit hard, but nothing bad really. I loved it and I downloaded it ^^.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

:)
thank you

Still listening

I was curious about this as it has a cool name and was featured. It's the little things that surprise you, I suppose. It has been looping non-stop on my computer for about two hours, and I never get tired of it. Thank you for such a wonderfully beautiful piece of music.
PS. Love the title, fits perfectly!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Damn, man. It's for people like you that I want to finish this piece of music at some point. So instead of listening to 49 seconds over and over. You can have approx 3-5 minutes to listen to for such extended listening, filled with much more. :)

I'm glad you like it. Sometimes I find myself in need of getting out some guitar melodies that are embedded into my brain, thus, you get something like this, a fairly simple loop.

Thanks for your review and your ears.

Setting a Stage Here.

This is perfectly smooth. The transition back to the loop is right where you need it to be.

When I listen to this I can just picture this song being used in a video, like a Game Cut Scene where the hero moved into a riverbed zone. When he reaches it you get a cut of the area and this song plays. All the while you navigate it, you hear this awesome beat in a solid loop. Really man, Awesome!

If you should make this longer. You've got a safe bet I'll be back for it!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Heh heh, thanks man. I would hope you'd return. I have no idea when I plan to continue working on this. I have the file and all. Just a quick thing to work on, to get sound out of my head that I think about.

I'm glad the loop works. I'd like to see this piece used for something. I think it would be nice to have some imagery to go along with it. I can't exactly imagine what the setting would be. I was thinking of Mars at the time - I had been reading all these articles about water/ice on the poles and thinking about if Mars had really once been like Earth. (for some background, hah)..

Hopefully you can find more of my pieces you like. Thanks for listening, Rick :)
