Reviews for "Cereus Peashy"

Would have been fun, if not for the tutorial.

Ugh, tutorials. Just tell me the rules and then let me play, okay? I guess the idea is you get to start playing faster this way, but it's a bad compromise. It's not as clear as just laying the instructions out first, and it sure as heck isn't as fun as playing without trying to read the instructions at the same time. It just makes it take even longer to get to the real game.

I hate to say it because I'm sure a whole lot of work went into this game, but it was pretty much ruined for me but giving the instructions this way.

Mediocre through and through

What do you know, another game on Newgrounds that goes by the mantra "As long as the graphics are good enough it doesn't matter if the game is the worst thing on earth". The controls were hellishly sluggish, the framerate was like 8 even on my 3.6 GHz P4, the entire idea is basically mario (collecting coins, jumping on enemies, and using short-range projectiles)...Really the only acceptable aspect of this game is the graphics. Hire somebody to do the programming for you, because your forte is graphics and only graphics.

i agree with scalene

i quit the first time i died because i was so close to the end of the lvl and i died so i had to restart the whole thing

Easily Frustrated

I can't say the idea is original, seeing as it was kinda reminiscent of a Yoshi platformer, but that's not my issue with the game. I think it'd be far more enjoyable if the controls were more precise. The Peashy slides around way too much for my taste (and I find that pretty ironic since he's running on sand). It's not so bad when on the ground; it's when he's airborne that it's a disaster. I find myself having to slow down every time I have to jump on an enemy or a cactus tower because if I don't, he goes flying over the target, usually to his death. A little less momentum next time? Also, I find the wall-jumping a bit difficult, either because the directions aren't very clear or because that also needs some tweaking. Other than that, it has the potential to become a good game.

Okay

You had to start all over whenever you died. No bueno.
