Past the deadline? What?
First off, on the NG holiday page, it states "The first and second best holiday movie entries this year will receive $1000 cash." Well, it's not the end off the year. It's not Chrismas yet, either. In any case, what was the deadline? I couldn't find it on the page, so I assumed yet was until the end off the year.
Secondly, you need to spend more time on flashes. You're getting dailies when you send near two weeks on it. If you get enough time, spend a couple months on something. It'll probably be great.
Now the breakdown, as always. (I'm basing this over time spent, not for overall animations on NG. Because holiday movies tend to be rushed, I give them a slightly higher score.)
Animation- 8. Many tweens, but you had a lack of time, which is the primary excuse for everything wrong with this flash, I sure. If you're ever doing something long, look at, say, Waterman (the new one), to see how characters move when talking.
Style- 9. Your animation has a slightly cartoonish aura about it without being sickly cute ('cept for Kimbles), that works out well. The hidden references (e.g. Rogers gun, Blockhead). Cultural references are really what made me like this flash. PS3 riots, excessive political correctness, etc.
Sound- 9. The voices themselves were very well done. You are a suberb voice actor. However in some scenes, especially when Petey is talking to Vampire (Name?), I hear a faint buzz from the microphone.
Humor- 8. You can refer back to my review of your Halloween movie for this, because it was basically the same. Some jokes were predictable, and the comedy wwasn't laugh out loud, but rather a "think about it, work it out, kind of chuckle" kind of comedy.
Originality- 9. A scrooge spoof that's original and doesn't star B-class actors in the lead roles? This is what T.V. stations should be showing! Not much to say about really, it just is original.
Overall- 8.7. Rounds to a nine. Lucky you.
Also, you're right. This really sent a message of the over commercialization of Christmas. I'm Jewish (and I don't get presents on Chanukah), so I get this message even more when I see people running to the mall for a PS3. Who needs that anyway?
There's near as much to say about this as you're other flashes. Just spend more time on something, it will be great, I assure you.
Oh, and are you doing The Spirit of Halloween 2 next year, or what?
