Reviews for "An Unforgotten Christmas"

nice one

that was a pretty cool christmas animation. it took a long time for it to load, but it was definitely worth the wait. it was pretty good. it looks like this one it part of or based on a series.... i'll have to check that out too since i liked this one.

Hmmmm....

Well, this was good but can't compare to the other episodes. Rob and Mike sounded great, but Cindy sounded like she had to work at points to say her line. Tune it up and I think this will be nice!

hmmm...

Anime needs a little work. Voices are good. But it is good.

Not too shabby.

What this could REALLY benefit from is some optimization. It dropped down to only one or two frames a second on my machine, which isn't a very old machine. If you go into File > Compact and Save it will cut your file size down a bit and make it run faster on export. Also you can go through your flash and on each keyframe go to Modify > Shape > Optimize Shape to get rid of unnecessary corners and lines in your flash drawings. Both of these techniques will give you a smaller better running flash.

You're machine must be god awful, as is your review.

Aw, what the duece?

I can understand you wanted more characters for an ongoing series, but...
Dude, girls dont play D&D. Expeccially any girl that looks even half good and has a little love for their self. Im not saying girls dont roleplay, im saying that they just dont play D&D. Maybe one in 10,000 do. Eh, i might be wrong, they might love the stuff. But i've never heard of it.
Secondly, I just didnt get the same feel from this one. It seemed like all the jokes were either recycled from earlier episodes or that they werent funny. Rob says something rude. He gets slapped. Woot. Mike tries to suggest they do something. Rob instead takes over like usual, but now that Mindy... er... Cindy is here, she goes along with it, thus taking out the fun of the series. I liked it a lot more when they were like, "I pet the cute rat" and "What the hell! you'll beat up the innocent old beggar but you want to pet the plagued deer rat?!?" And that was it. With Cindy on board, it makes rob's side just seem like its not so absurd. This would've been funnier if the dialoge was more humorous and if Mike was subtly trying to hit on Cindy. I mean, why else would he bring her to play D&D? He shoulda been like, "She's a centaur, the most beautiful creature in the land." And rob coulda said something back that was funny. You know, funny.
Anyway, it all boils down to the idea that most the jokes only work between rob and mike, at least thats how i feel. If you were to add another character, I'd like to see a guy who doesnt side with either of them and follows the story, whatever it may be, fully. Heh, for instance, he could be picking herbs and Mike'd be like, "What the hell? why are you picking herbs!?" And the new guy'd say, "Well, we may encounter cave trolls. These herbs are poison to them!" And mike'd go on about how they'd never fight cave trolls in a forest, then sure enough, on one of rob's side-quests, they'd fight some. Or something.
I hope you understand what i mean. I love the series so far, but please, for the sake of UFR, dont keep the cindy character. She made a lot of the jokes a lot less funny and she's unrealistic. I like the idea of just rob and mike playing, becuase i've done games like that and it's silly. But, if you feel like expanding your characters by adding another team-mate, go ahead. Just, please, make it a realistic one that'll compliment the series.

Sirschmoopy responds:

Oh man a female character in a movie about people playing dungeons and dragons, it's so cliche. If I could do the voice of Cindy myself I would keep her forever almost out of spite for the one out of 50 viewers like you.

It doesn't really matter what you even say because with every episode I release theres going to be another person saying it wasn't as good as the last or how they didn't like this character and such.

People hated mr. axe from the get go and now can't stand to see him missing and people hated petey from the start and all I ever here is plot stories based around the pikachu-ask character.

A female player can't play warhammeer? Your right maybe I should introduce another male nerd character, I bet that would fill a none existant niche and opne a wide range of potenial jokes right?

Why would mike try to hit on Cindy? I have one character with high Int and low Cha and the other vise versa. You throw ideas at me that don't even work. This isn't a show that I plan doing the same thing every single episode, because I'm going to change it and reinvent it again and again.

I made a 3 minute episode using lovely fan ideas like yours, it was horrible and I did it to show that negative feedback followed up with "you should have done this" is not helpful at all.

I learn nothing from these types of reviews except for the simple fact everytime I do anything that changes the feel from episode 1, some wise guy is going to post what I should have done.

Episode seven is close, I'm introducing a dozen new characters I plan on using in the future in this one including another future party member and I know that when it's done no matter how much time I spend on it theres gonna be some "loyal fan" who tells me it wasn't as good as the last one, gives me a shity rating and nothing helpful what so ever. I was told that when I made the 10 second clip, episode 1, episode 2. None of this is new, just another random ass fan doing the worst possible thing he could do to help my series.

Hinder my motivation.
