Advocate of Something, You Decide
While in the case of Sept. 11th, as in any case of similar incidents, NO act of terrorism is justified when it kills innocent people, and as such no matter what the United States has done in the past deserves any act of mass killing such as that, I would have to agree with at least a few of Sad Tooth's comments. Yes, we still haven't produced any evidence linking bin Laden to Sept. 11th. We've claimed we have it, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't heard of it actually being produced for public viewing or for the nation of Afghanistan to view to see if they would turn over bin Laden afterward. And until we do, it will seem like bin Laden was made the prime suspect to satiate the collective consciousness of society and their thirst for vengeance. From the looks of the section of "kill Osama" games, I'd say it succeeded... And regarding any "evidence" that appears to make it look blatantly Arabic or Islamic extremist, I'm reminded of that fake 1980's video that supposedly showed Palestinians "rejoicing" at the WTC bombings, yet whoever produced that phony piece of crap was never uncovered...plus the Anthrax letters most likely having been written by a Westerner who too seems eager to get a war between the US and Islam...
As to the video, I'd have to say I was a bit disturbed by it. Once again, I'm grateful that the video didn't target the entire nation of Afghanistan in general. But once again I'm upset that death had to be the end all to. It is appealing to the more wrathful nature of the human mind in that manner of death and encouraging it to come forth, which I think is leading people to think of death as the solution to problems involving people like these in the future. But killing in itself just starts an endless cycle. In this kind of situation, we only have more people to enrage by causing more death, people who might carry a terrorist grudge against the US as well. But beyond that, even if a person said they wanted bin Laden dead, as an act of revenge or justice, I would still be mortified to hear that they also wanted to fist rape him. That is just plain sick as well as immoral. And lastly, I don't think tacking on the "Allah" object of the preposition is that good of an idea either. If the movie had been called "fist of Jesus", I myself would have been very upset, so I don't know how an Islamic individual would react.
