Fluid, well-animated, fun
While I'll admit I didn't get far in the game (owing to some rocket-propelled drills), I thoroughly enjoyed it. Side-scrolling shooters are fairly common, and this one wasn't innovative... but there's a reason for that. The current formula of one ship vs. an unending tide of weak opponents works. Figuratively, bitter medicines may be the best for you... but we like candy enough to eat it even if it rots our teeth. This game is candy for the mind. Nothing exciting, but good for some light fun. That said, kudos on the graphics. The explosions remided slightly of Synj, Dustball, and Mindchamber's work, and of a game called 'Twilight Valkyrie' which came out a while ago. In short, stylized, pretty unrealistic, and cartoonish, but terribly satisfying. Please keep up the good work - with a few more weapons (and a more accessible weapon-switching key), some health upgrades, and maybe a few performance tweaks, you'd have a game which would probably make it into the collections. The game itself runs very smoothly, although it would be nice to have the copter tilt more with less vertical movement, enabling the player to attack without ruining his/her position. Good luck, and by way of encouragment - I really enjoyed your game!
