Reviews for "Power-Copter"

Awesome man!

Good job!

The graphics were awesome, and the game was really cool overall.

The 2 things that I would say, would be that it was too hard, and too laggy. The latter is something to do with coding I imagine, and the former was probably todo withthe fact that you didnt have enough time (i know you wanted to release it for the armour games comp).

Im looking forward to making our game together James! :P

NICE

i liked, perfect graphics, loved em',easy to remember keys,i'm glad to hear there will be more of this, thankz -MisFiT

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I hope there will be more, too. It was pretty fun.

w00t w00t w00t

This is going to be one hell of a game when nearly evryone knows it, The graphics were awesome, I dind't liked the style much tough but the violence and the weapons were awesome(came to rocket:D)
Oh and you could place something funny like A clown balloon who is trowing Water Balloons at you without any affect at all.
But besides all that this game is AWESOME W00T W00T W00T :p.

Fluid, well-animated, fun

While I'll admit I didn't get far in the game (owing to some rocket-propelled drills), I thoroughly enjoyed it. Side-scrolling shooters are fairly common, and this one wasn't innovative... but there's a reason for that. The current formula of one ship vs. an unending tide of weak opponents works. Figuratively, bitter medicines may be the best for you... but we like candy enough to eat it even if it rots our teeth. This game is candy for the mind. Nothing exciting, but good for some light fun. That said, kudos on the graphics. The explosions remided slightly of Synj, Dustball, and Mindchamber's work, and of a game called 'Twilight Valkyrie' which came out a while ago. In short, stylized, pretty unrealistic, and cartoonish, but terribly satisfying. Please keep up the good work - with a few more weapons (and a more accessible weapon-switching key), some health upgrades, and maybe a few performance tweaks, you'd have a game which would probably make it into the collections. The game itself runs very smoothly, although it would be nice to have the copter tilt more with less vertical movement, enabling the player to attack without ruining his/her position. Good luck, and by way of encouragment - I really enjoyed your game!

Rellin responds:

Thanks for the review, Sil. I dont know of any easier keys than the number keys right above WASD, though. Still, I appreciate the comments. This probably wont be the very last game I make.

Good art. Programming needs improvent

I believe one of newtons laws was (roughly) that movement is transfered between objects. So why is it when the egg (bomb whatever) hits the enemy, that the enemy just statically hits the ground. he doesn't fly backwards from recieving a massive impact on his front side.

Also the physics in general could use improvement. for example, the arc of the egg (bomb whatever) could definently use improvement. Read a tutorial on phsics and knock the framerate up several digits.

Peace,
Musician

Rellin responds:

Actually it is supposed to be a waterballoon. The arc of the water balloon is pure newtonian physics ( s = (.5)(a)(t)^2 + VoT + So ). Also the law you are referring to is the action/reaction one. The forces play out like this: Force of Water Ballooon on Enemy and Force of Enemy on Water Balloon. Obviously the force of the enemy on the waterballoon is insignificant. That's why they dont move back. Also if you hit an enemy with a lot of speed you will bounce back with similar speed. There is some physics involved in the game.

You should probably learn some physics before you make an uninformed comment.
