Wow..
First off, allow me to say you stunned the hell out of me. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first saw it on the Gadgets page, but upon further reading your description I allowed my curiosity to get the better of me. It's a good thing I did.
Now, I don't review often.. and I certainly never give all tens. You got as close to all tens as I recall ever giving, and that means that in my eyes you made something short of perfect here. Short.. Yes, it was short wasn't it? Give us more than three levels next time and you'll be idolized, I assure you. Now, to further explain my review:
Graphics:
Wow.. This was amazing to me, man. I know some of the bodies could have been worked on a little, but you did an astonishing job with such things as the plague blisters, the reaction the bodies had to the blades, everything. I almost gave it a ten, I'm not going to lie.
Style:
I loved the style of it, man. Not only does NG need more 'operation' (as another put it) type games, but it needs more medieval stuff too. You did good to show people a glimpse of how nasty medicine really was. Nevermind the guy who said it was too gory, that's medical history for ya. Hell, you could have made it even worse and the accuracy would have just went up. Plus, the vamp in the end was a good surprise and a good touch.
Sound: I LOVED the music. I don't know why, it just seemed very fitting and it sucked the player in. Not to mention the quality was good. Nevermind the lack of other sound effects (or was there? I was too wrapped up in the music).
Violence:
See gore statement above.. Plus, the vamp was a great touch. Again you showed how they would have handled it in the old days when they believed they had one. Like the old school 'dispatching' method.
Humor:
Well.. I don't find the plague to be funny. Some sickos out there might.. but hey, this wasn't MADE to be funny. I'm glad. Liked this atmosphere better.
Overall:
Just.. well, 'wow' says it all. You guys had better make more, or else I may have to break out the mallot and do to you what I did twice to the poor officer's knee. Keep up the great work. Nothing but praise.
