Reviews for "You Will Never Be Alive"

a bit to loud

I really liked the elastic effect in the thump percussion, it really feels like its pounding then retracting. The electronic dibs and dubs were also really well placed as support on that.

I had to take down my pc's wave volume to 50% for my ears to not automatically close off to the sound though.. but then it was great.

Maybe work a bit more on melody next (not that melody is missing here, its just in the detail, i mean if there were even more melody it would be more awesome) and youre going to end on my mp3 player. :þ

Right now music like this to me sounds like listening to boards of canada. :)
(should be a compliment anyway)

Keep it up. (and check out my latest 2? :þ)

The Strings...

...make me swoon. Really love the strings you have going on. They really give me an 80's vibe, and I love it. They sound so cheesy, yet so unmistakeably delicious. The strings make this song for me, despite the fact they aren't the main focus.

As for the rest of the song, the intro is exquisite. I love the intro entirely, and the transition is very unique and catching. The transition into the main song really grabs you by the ears and screams at the listener, "You will listen to this, and you will like it!"

The chimes/glass breaking theme is really cool. I've used some glass breaking samples in music before, and it works so well. As do chimes. It sounds like you used both throughout this song, and it really adds a unique texture to this song. Very cool idea.

I love the mashing of vocals throughout this song. The background "clutter", as I would define it, sounds great and really adds to the unique sound of this song. Also, when you use more "clean" vocals it fits perfectly and really slices through the mix to give a sort of calm feeling in the midst of all the chaos.

Because this song is quite chaotic despite it's warm and inviting tone. The instruments/synths used are all very warm and soft in their own way. And it creates this sort of atmosphere that makes the listener feel relaxed and gives a nonthreatening vibe. The actual writing though is very chaotic and sort of angry in an off beat way.

A lot of the effects used are very unique as well. I hear a lot of effects people use, but just done differently. Its not the same filter wooshes and stutters often heard in all of the house/trance/dance music here on Newgrounds. So I really like the use of effects, because you used them in ways to create unique sounds that one simply doesn't hear on a lot of music today.

All that being said, I think the one weak spot is the ending. It isn't bad really, but it isn't all that great either. This song needs a little more closure than what it is given at this time. So tune up the ending a bit and this would be a great song without a doubt.

5/5 and 10/10 overall. Loved this song, and I know you are working on the ending so I'm not gonna hold your score back for something I know is being fixed at the time I write this review.

InvisibleObserver responds:

I was kind of going for a euro-trance sound, it saddens me that you just misinterpreted it. Its too complex for you to have understood.

Just what you'd expect...

from you. In my opinion, it's not as good as your other songs, but it's still the same kind of music that you never fail to put out. I agree with Sessile; the beat could be better, but the FX are nice. It just doesn't seem to be as "in your face," you know? Overall 9/10. Pretty nice.

InvisibleObserver responds:

There seems to be a consensus of drum's needing some more work. I think I'll do my best to squeeze in some, though the mix is tricky to include them. I might poke you and others who brought up drum issue when I update.

Thanks!

Awesome!

But then, it's what you expect from InvisibleObserver. Total awesomeness ^_^

Thanks for commenting! :)

oh wtf is this shit

i gave a 5 and it says scores went down, fuck you ng

this sounds SOOOO freaking nice dude, it have a tonal center, well..closer to one than your recent stuff

would be awesome for an intro to an album, b4 the drums come in, like if it ended there and a heavy ass guitar riff came in...dear lord it could be cool

drums are kind of boring, not much going on, sadly

i feel like im hearing glitchy vocals throughout, you record yourself

dammit now its kind of leaving its tonality, sad face lol

overall i liked it, pretty cool use of effects, drums were just a bit boring, but you know what im into xD

peace brah

InvisibleObserver responds:

Oh Sessile, you move me so.
