Mhmmm...
Been done before. Nothing special.
It seems like it would be fun at first, but when you start playing, it's just like every other 2D side-scroller.
Graphics were well done, some nice hand-drawn artwork for the backround, the sound was annoying as hell though. Tons of extremly annoying techno-type stuff as the backround music, and the gun noises are pretty genaric lasergun noises.
The auto-spawn on the enemies was annoying as hell too... I mean com'on... Infinite respawn, while I'm trying to shoot at a hellicopter in the air? Rediculous.
On the other hand, I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this game.
Just try adding some elements to the game that make it a bit different.
Average, good game
The controls suck. The normal direction pad and mouse would have been way better. Other than that, this is a good game, you should try it.
The loop music got annoying after a while, also.
Fun as hell!!
I like how much health the player is given. It makes the game keep going, no matter how badly you're doing. This was just great.

Several problems with your game...
Infinite respawn of enemies is so annoying. Especially when they can shoot at an angle when you can't. When you are right on top of an enemy and he releases a bonus, you get single shot every single time. The first boss, while doable, is very badly thought. Rotations of bonuses too quick to pick anything, and furthemore very hard to catch when they get away. Other than that it's good, but it needs a LOT of gameplay tuning...
