Two things I noticed...
As of Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 Tails is nine. And before that he was eight. Also Tails is not Sonic's adopted brother Tails is his best friend. The only time where they were mistaken for brothers is in the now cancelled show called "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog"
