Reviews for "StarCraft: Alliance"

Can't wait for the next one.

Great Job! I could very easily see how you improved past the duration of the three flash animations that you have made on Starcraft.

Characters seem vibrant and bursting with life, and I am absolutely amazed at the 3-D style of the various Aircraft and Ground Troops of the Terran and Protoss. Facial features of the Humans need work, although they have definitely improved from the last two Starcraft Flashes.

I am very enticed by the storyline of this flash series, and of the great mythical beast -- The Zantaboan. It seems very Blizzard-Created, and even a glimpse of it after Zerg Infestation sent a chill down my spine.

For your next episode of this great series, I would love to see many of the excluded units from the Starcraft Universe, like the Dark Templar, Firebats, Ultralisks -- maybe even Xel'Naga? As there is very little photographic evidence of how these gods look like, I would love to see your interpretation of how these beings would appear.

Great Flash. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see your future animations. 9/10, 5 on the rating.

LogFish responds:

Thanks!

I'm introducing some new units into the next episode, I won't say what because that'd mildly ruin it heh. Hopefully you'll like them! I'm trying to work on the people a bit more, hitting a bit of a limit of my skills without putting weeks into learning to draw better, but they should be a bit better anyway. Less goggle eyed and static.

I'm not too keen to delve into too much of Blizzards stories in fear of touching on something blizzard might use later, so I'll just be sticking to my fictional extra addon rather than developing the zerg/protoss hybrid (which I'm sure blizz would) and the Xel'naga etc... leave that to the experts :)

Thanks for the review! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the next one when I eventually get it out.

Wow, this rocks.

Well, I watched your series and I have to say, this was the best game series I've ever seen, good job. Nice designs on your flash and good sounds. Got all the Yamato Gun sounds and the others straight from SC. And now, I have to thank you since You've made me play SC again. Thx for everything and I look foward to your next sequel, The Hunt!

LogFish responds:

Thanks a lot :) I took a bit of a break from the series but I'm working on it again now and it's coming along nicely - hopefully it won't disapoint!

I too decided to play SC again which is another distractor heh, just finished the BW campaign this morning!

Steadily improving...

Another excellent piece of work, Log. Your persistence and dedication to this project are really starting to pay off.

Firstly, your graphics look much nicer. The faces.. they actually look human! :) Your other drawings are equally strong, and your cinematography are strong as ever; the cuts, the pans, it's all there. Loved the cameos by the SCV, Arbiter, and Scarab Beetle. I will admit, though, your animation still could use a little work. Your fights between Jones and the zelaot, as well as Odyseum and the Zerg could have been a bit more fluid... I'm no animator, but perhaps more frames per second can help? Your space battles work out well, though. Great moment: Watching the Wraith fly past the Battlecruiser as it went up in flames.

The sound usage again definitely lends to the feeling that this could be something from the StarCraft world. Again, I said it before, and I just might touch on nagging you about it, but: voice acting, voice acting, voice acting! : ) But I will compliment you on your background music. It lends to the mood without taking too much credit or feeling like it was an afterthought.

A note on interactivity: Loved the interface! Skipping to scenes, and the "Skip plot" buttons were clutch.

You're improving on your comic delivery, and that's great. It still needs tweaking (At least from an American standpoint), however. The glaring issue was when Sarge drove the transport into the ground. I felt that was rushed. Like, it should have rammed the ground, paused, cut to the Sarge saying the line, then taking off again. The other deliveries were quite solid, though.

Overall, you continue to impress. I can't wait to see how the Alliance works its way out of this one!

LogFish responds:

Thanks again :) Yea, when I get started on the next episode I mean to put much more effort into the animation - I have kind of 'cheated' up till now, just panning everything instead of having to animate anything - in the next episode I mean to have arms flailing and whatnot. Take note, see whether I do it or not heh. Glad you liked that particular shot - when I think out the episodes there's certain shots that come to mind that everything is kinda anchored around, and that was one of them! Thought it'd look pretty cool :)

Glad you enjoyed this one as well, hopefully the next won't disapoint!

Nice graphics but...

Wow, defiantly better then your other ones. The graphics are way improved. The humor is still there, but could be improved. The music is fantastic, although the missile, and aircraft sounds could be more improved. Overall a solid 9.

Good, but...

Graphics: graphics is great. But, there are a few things, what is not right. First, when the ghost attacks the zealot, it looks very strange. Second, misilles looks undetialed. Third, scouts and the research station or somewhat is UGLY!
Style: Very good movie :)
I don't have other problems
