DannyP responds:

Glad you enjoyed my game, and thanks for the suggestions and review.

Good game

Lets see what we have here....

Graphics - Drawn nicely but some of the drawings were a little weird, like how it looks like when you go to sleep in the expensive house but rest was nice.

Style - Way more different than Stick RPG, even though the concept was still similar. Stick RPG has a bank and a job where you get 200 per hour or so, and stick RPG has 12 hours of the day if you have alarm clock and caffeine pills. Meteolife makes getting money way too hard but since there aren't any other Stick RPG style games (well there are but not with sticks) this is pretty original too.

Sound - You should have had a nice little background soundtrack like in Stick RPG because I didn't like the music that was in the radio. (Well I did like the music but they didn't fit well with the game)

Violence - Not really much, but enough to look good.

Interactivity - You can do alot of stuff but you should be able to start riots in jail or try to escape or stuff.

Humor - The 2 funny things in the game were the spinning guy at the library "Why am I spinning? Its fun!" and "Go away stupid child. I told you piss off!" and so on.

Things to improve on - In Meteolife 2 there should be like ability to start riots in jail, bigger town (not necessarily more towns), different story, more jobs, cheat code entering menu (like in the game you press lets say Y and a cheat code screen pops up and in the game theres a "Cheats" button where the cheats are displayed on your forums and you enter the cheat codes you want in the cheat menu), more cars, be able to paint your cars (except certain special cars), more houses, each being more and more expensive and having more and more features and have 2 shops, one where you can paint your house and one where you can buy a library or something like that. Okay, not all this stuff but maybe some of them and maybe changed.
Also, for Meteolife 2 don't change the graphics and keep the stickman's color still yellow.

Overall - Great game. Has a few annoying glitches and annoying stuff but overall its a good game!

Note: I'll hate you if you don't make Meteolife 2

(Ya, I know, big review)

DannyP responds:

Ah, thank you for that review, it's quite detailed.
I've already got a different story planned for Meteolife 2, a cheat menu is definitely going in (a couple of others suggested it and it is quite a good idea), painting cars is a good idea as well as more stuff to do in jail. There will be different towns you can go to because having one humongous map would cause lag... one thing I hate about Stick RPG is I have to set my quality to Low just to be able to move around at the correct frame rate. The different towns will have different houses you can buy, different jobs, etc., and there'll be a train station to get to other towns so you'll be able to work there too. Painting houses is a good idea as something to buy as well as somewhere to work, and I like your idea of buying commercial buildings... that could rake in a great deal of money in the game.

I might keep the stickman yellow, but I'm thinking of changing the graphics of the game to be like those 2D top view games... like the original Final Fantasy games, Dragon Warrior, etc... basically like any RPG is on the NES, SNES, or Gameboy. Having a top-view stickman in a 2D world just doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and I think that's a noticeable ripping off of Stick RPG...

Hopefully I'll get around to Meteolife 2... I've been extremely lazy, but I've also grown tired of my usual online games, so working on Flash might be a nice and productive alternative for me. Someone else is doing basically all of the coding, so there probably won't be any glitches. I'm like... the 'director' or whatever and I'm also doing graphics. Someone else is doing music, so there'll be default background music.

Thanks again for that long review, and thanks for playing Meteolife. Hope to hear from you again when/if I make Meteolife 2.

The whip...

the whip turned me on...

DannyP responds:

I believe you're the first to be turned on by said whip.

THE MOST AMAZING GAME YOU CAN EVER PLAY ON NG.

I loved it. The Meteo world is absolutely huge and there's so many building and random things going on. It's just fantastic theres so many things to do and see and buy. In other RPGs, you don't see a jogging guy get ran over. Or a guy with a rocket launcher blasting stuff around town. Or two dudes fighting on rooftops. It's the best game on the internet.
There's only one thing I don't like:
The debt guy! Why does he whip you? Why can't he make you live in the prison?

If you could improve that, then this could be good enough to be the 3rd best RPG in the world (it goes Final fantasy 12, kingdom hearts 2 and meteolife.

DannyP responds:

Wow, you really enjoyed the little details :P
I'll admit, the jail system was pretty harsh... When/if Meteolife 2 is completed, the jail will be easier to get out of, and maybe have more options, like starting riots or trying to break free. Hopefully I'll get to work on the second Meteolife, and it'll have different towns, more jobs, more random things going on, and generally more stuff to do :P
Anyhow, quite glad you enjoyed my game. Thanks for playing and reviewing it.
