One of the best games and the best shooter on NG!
This is by far the best shooter on NG in my humble opinion. The difficulty, even on easy, is there. I reached level 3 on easy before getting overwhelmed by the laser ships. It was the l.s. and the ball drones at the end of Lv2 that did it, which was an insanity fest to get through. Anywho, here's the review.
Graphics (10)---Great pixels and smooth graphics give a great feel for the game. Even with 60+ rocks coming at me, it looked flawless.
Style (10)---4-directional guns + two ships that interchange=good gameplay. Using all 4 directions on the fly was easy and being able to hold D and use another direction was a definite plus. My only gripe was that I would've allowed the ship to use health pickups not needed on the current ship to pass on to the ship waiting in the wings (Hope you understood that). That would've saved me on Lv3 when both my guys were sans ship. But that's just a tiny rant.
Sound (8)---The soundtrack could've been a little more varied, but the music definitely fits the game's theme. I was in the zone by Lv2.
Violence (1)--- Except for exploding ships, none.
Interactivity (10)---Could've only done better with a flight joystick. Awesome.
Humor (8)---I definitely was laughing when I was scooting through microscopic gaps in the two asteroid parts I got to see.
Overall (10)---I'm going to make this a 3 times a week play. And maybe I'll get some skills so I can see the end of the game.
Reccomendations: I know NG has a lot of RPG's, but maybe you should try your hand at making one if you already haven't. I will say that Gamma Bros. DEFINITELY deserves a sequel. And I will be the first one to play it, I hope.
