Hmm...

I complement you on your initial message that was posted in summary. That's exactly right, for people to not try to take matters into their own hands and attack the Islamic community in their own hands in the US. I saw a great many students leave my campus and my country because of racism, prejudice, and death threats. I've seen ethnic restauraunts temporarily close, relatives turn against their ethnic neighbors, and heard of students needing to be escorted to their classes to prevent harrassment. Frankly, that is bullshit. We look at other oppressive nations and call that bad, and then we turn around and do things like that. That is one reason of many that I dislike people getting violent, hateful, and vengeful about this matter of Sept. 11th; it's led to meaningless crap like that. There's no justice in outright bigotry and hatred, and if people we be so bitter and so vile as to encourage feelings like that, or give themselves proper excuse to act like that, then I think they seriously need to reconcile themselves and calm down before they start going on the warpath or talking about justice. Not only that, also with people who want some vile torture or would rejoice in some long, gruesome elaborate death. I think that too is a product of all of this hate, that people suddenly seem to think they are free to act as immoral and sadistic as they want because something terrible was done to them. There's simply no logic in that, and I would think it would be bad for anyone who would rejoice in the slow, painful torture of any individual, with inhuman acts being performed on them. At any rate, I was thankful you put that message first before showing the movie. But I was still saddened by the movie itself, because though it was not outright torture, a wish for death on anyone and a rejoicing about it still seems to be hate-driven and wrong. I think, once again, that it would be wrong in any case for people to call for the death of another, no matter who the person. All it does is reveal a bloodlust among people and an anger inside them that they want to satiate more violence. While I myself am in agreement that something has to be done, and that bin Laden needs to be incarcerated and should be indefinitely if possible, I still do not want to call for death. And I still would not rejoice in it, for then I would wonder what kind of person I have become that I should cheer for another man's demise, and how just I was since I derived pleasure from the event. Human life has a sacredness to it that prevents other humans from taking it, be they good or evil, or their intentions good or evil. And it is because of that facet that I think killing even one who has violated such sacredness to be wrong, because the life in itself is intrinsically good, whether or not it is wasted on acts of evil. And I feel strongly that the death of bin Laden will not help those among whom pain really needs to be relieved will matter, for the nation will be just as vulnerable as it was before to other madmen, and the people who were killed will still be gone. And it will be impossible to get rid of madmen, so long as there is difference of opinion and the more extreme and fanatical in those differences of opinion. If anything, I think it will increase it, especially if bin Laden becomes a "martyr", or if we end up destroying so many collateral lives or tearing up so much in our "War on Terrorism" that we incite even more terrorists. There is the reason why I gave such a low rating, and though I feel you will think I'm a fool, I had to say it.

P.S. The techno remix of the Hamsterdance is awesome.
