Solid Song
I feel like I've heard this song before. Anyway, it's somewhat relaxing. The message is dark at times, but the simple instruments and generally hopeful mood keeps it upbeat.
I don't much enjoy the listener-mongering fad known as "Modern Country," (which usually needs a category not at all related to Country), but your song seems pretty legitimate as a country song-- whatever its subcategories may be.

I totally agree. Just because you have a steel guitar in your band doesn't make you a country group. I think a lot of people miss that point. I mean, how in the world is Taylor Swift country? I like her music but it's clearly pop music. Thanks for the review!
oh my god
i dont like country songs. if at all, theres one song that i like, & its "What Hurts the Most" by...yannow, i forget his name. Michael something. (thats how much i dont like country music).
...this song is one of those country songs i like, & this is comin from someone who DISLIKES Country styled music. it actually made me swing a little bit, & gave me an image of a guy sitting at a bar or on a store front porch, & just slowly strum the guitar strings.
