The sentiment is what counts.
It's good to see some patrioticism and such. America is a wonderful country, and it is sad to see such terrible things happen...
But, while I do appreciate all the pride in our nation, I have to stand up and say one thing: WHY is america the "greatest nation on earth"? What did we do that was so great? What sets us above everyone else? We have high crime rates, 10 times that of any country in europe; we have rampant corruption in politics, with people like Karl Rove bulldogging all opposition and Tom "I AM THE GOVERNMENT!" DeLay. We are a nation that has fallen in love with its own legend, and unless we wake up and set about PROVING that we're the best, we're gonna keep degenerating into a nation of self-absorbed idiots with no credibility left in the world. America needs to straighten itself out and reclaim the dignity that we had in times like World War 2, when we truly were the greatest nation on earth.
